| | | Glens pocket quad
Heres a pocket quad i picked up for next to nothing - reason are the couriers smashed it and couldnt get the engine to go. in the end the person that had it before got a refund and i got the quad for $80.
turns out it wouldnt start because the the carb was clogged with crap - the coil gap was ~ 3mm and the spark plug was pretty crap also.
mods thus far -
- walbro 15mm
- fibreglass reeds
- exaust port and boost port mod to the stock head
- lightened flywheel.
seems to eat through clutches though. somewhat instantaneously.. and when you turn the wheels all the way it binds up lol
rather then waste money on cag like parts im gunna try find a blata rep bottom end and put my polini 3 port top end bits on it + the old gp3 radiator and it should haul *** big time.
fun times ahead

if its binding up that could be why its eating clutches i did hear of a batch that did this & the seller was suppling a spare clutch with each bike, you may need to inspect the axle bearings because some corrode & bind up during the shipping from china
make sure the rear axle is straight & in line the brakes also bind up a bit as they have a thicker disc i had to run my cable slack until the brakes bedded in
the other thing on some is once the brakes are applied the caliper would stick & did not spring back open so we had to add a spring to pull the brake caliper back
one other thing i did was to remove the front suspension & install 2 X 6 inch pieces of square tube & make it rigid, as i did not like the way the front would track when the spring was compressed
it handles a bit better rigid in my opinion when turning at high speed & power sliding
it looks like its already got the 6/68 pinion & sprocket thin chain setup
being taller than me you will probably also sit back further on the seat so be wary of dips at high speed because if your still on the power they can be easy to flip because of where you sit
it wouldn't hurt to inspect the bell size & bearing but there are some really soft clutches about so it may just be the compound & springs they use ?
i use the clutches with a dark grayish black pad material & 10 turn springs

yeah the clutch is real crappy so ive swapped it out for now, need to get a new throttle cable now. ripped the old one up.
as for binding i mean when you turn the front steering all the way the angle is way off, to the degree that the inside wheel binds up and locks the whole thing up. ill try get a pic

ok yes they do get tight & loose power when turning because of the live axle
much like a kart they want to go straight you may need to put stoppers on the steering to stop you from turning too much ?? to see if it helps

theres plenty of meat around the base to mill out the mounting holes into slots like the BZM heads so that shouldnt be a problem - and the head i have is a GP3 head with the internal pump so the water works should be the same but to save a few $$ without needing the blata cranks and such ill just use the polini cases.
but i mounted up the radiator in front of the.. well i dont know what youd call it but the front part anyway!
would have a whole lot more done but ran out of welding gas.. bugger.
