| | | Rules for starter boxes
G'Day guys.
Due to too much compression destroying my pull starters, I am thinking of running an electric remote starter box on my pocket bike like a go kart starter.
Similar to this 20_1_sbl.JPG
Is there anything in the rules that prevents this? And has anyone in the past had problems doing this?

whats one of them worth, i was thinkin of modifying a model plane starter but they dont have built in batterys

Yep, it is obviously not attached to the bike. Thats why it is a 'remote' starter as used in formula etc. Only disadvantage being you cannot quickly restart the bike if it stalls on the grid.

It is a "remote starter" that is not part of the bike in any way. I use them on my go karts so you can start the kart on a bench or trolley. The one in the picture is a flash one and is about $400, however you can make them for under $200 with motor, battery, switch etc. The one I am making at the moment has a gearbox on it to increase torque with a smaller motor.
