Cockburn Riding Day 28/01/09

A great day for the 7 or 8 riders who turned up. Started out a bit awkward with only three of us (and then the Prez arrived). But man, riding on the Cockburn Go-Kart track was just brilliant. When the other boys rocked up, it was fantastic.

A bit disappointing with the attendance though. After nearly 3 years of trying to get a track happening, we get one, and people don't come. I know 50 bucks seems a bit steep, but we were paying that at the Big Track, and we were getting like 30-40 riders down there every second weekend.

Let's hope there is another one, and we get some more guys down there. I bet the Supermoto guys loved watching us

Thanks especially to Katherine, the Prez, and all the other committee workers for their hard work. It really, really is appreciated, no matter the good times or the bad. Keep it up!

Magnificent!!!

Spot on Lukie .

IT WAS MAGNIFICENT. It was a brilliant little outing, riding on a track is a world of difference to a carpark! Cambered corners, hills, straights, a reasonable pit area, drinks for sale. As evening came on we rode under lights (memo to self: take clear visor ). Just having some time to think about lines and cornering in a track environment is a buzz.

$50 is a lot less than you pay for that much track time for any other motorised sport. We went out for 4-5 sessions in all from 6 to 9pm.

I know we got pulled up for not having perfect bikes and riding gear, but there isn't that much to do to get ourselves up to scratch. AND ITS WORTH IT!!!! We just have to build credibility, and we'll get a better hearing on this and other tracks. If we present as having our house in order, they will relax more about us being there (at their own liability to some extent).

It worked very well having alternate sessions with the motards.

Cheers Adam for so much help with my own bike and a chance to ride yours a couple of times, I owe you!

Good on you El Presidente for representing us and smoothing over things so we can hopefully ride there again. SOOOOOOOON!

Anyone got some photos?

Thanks very much to all for organising and getting us to this point. If we did this again once a month I would be there every time. How about everyone else?

Cheers,

Jimbo #003

Team Sapp Racing Bitches will be there for sure. At the moment we are looking at suits and shoes so we can look the part, and play the part.

Woot!

The next supermotard practice day is, I THINK, the 10th. I'm not sure. If everything works out with them, then we might be albe to go next practice day.
