You need to talk to Glen. He'll have all the info you need. He runs Small Wheel Sunday at Lakeside raceway, pretty much every sunday. Surely he'll get onto you but if not you should just pop down to lakeside around 9 or ten on a sunday and see them in action.
Look for the dark haired glazier character..thats Glen. ;-)
Heres the Facebook link : Small Wheel Sunday | Facebook
Heres the Forum info: SWS__Lakeside • Index page
Best of luck!

Best of luck! | Last I heard Lakeside aren't doing pocket bikes anymore, just buckets, posties, motards and scooters.

Archerfield every saturday and every second Sunday. If you can mate, come out next weekend, the QLD titles are on so you will be able to see the fastest cag riders in australia race together.

Cheers Chris, you're a champ!!
Tyrone, you've got no idea..
Peter, yes we do still allow Pocket Bikes to run.. However, we are no longer holding 'race days', all events are now just 'track days'.. Simply turn up to an event, sign some forms, pay your money and away you go..
It's $50/senior full day, $35/senior half day.. Also $20 for a day AASA license or $55 for a yearly AASA license, if you purchase a day license you have up to 3 weeks to pay the balance of a yearly($35) and upgrade to it..
Furthermore, I'm 6'2" and managed to fit onto a Minimoto just fine.. Then there's Liam who used to race in SA, he was about 9'6" :P
Seeing as it's only track days, you can run any bike you like..
Point to note.. Minimoto racing/riding across Australia (perhaps with the exeption of WA) has suffered greatly, numbers are very low at all clubs.. So is Minimoto where you really want to go??
Yes, there is Archerfield for racing but there numbers are also very low so I don't see anyone gaining much fun or competition.. The two Brisbane tracks are also chalk and cheese, check them both out..
For the price of a cheaper 2nd Euro Minimoto you could get onto a road race bike, just a thought..
Come out to Lakeside, not this coming Sunday but the one after, 10th July and have a look and a talk..

i would say that pocket bike riding alone is worth it. it definitely serves its purpose of being a low cost, low injury motor racing option. The reason i dont have a full size track bike at the moment is that you are doing speeds more like 160km/h which 1. damages your bike more in a crash and 2. damages you more in a crash. also the advantage of pocket bikes is you can put it in the back seat of your car have a ride and go home. you can also keep the bike in smaller houses as you dont have to have the garage space.
There is definitely advantages of pocket bike riding / racing. thats why i do it.

Lets face it, Chinese bikes require ALOT of setup and money thrown at them just to get them reliable and then constant maintanence to keep them there, Chinese parts are more prone to failure and so the need to buy more parts..
Euro bikes can be expensive to purchase up front, a heck of alot more reliable but also more expensive to fix if it does break..
Cost to enter into the national comp is astonashing and then a new rider would be no where near the front anyway..
My Moriwaki I bought 2 years ago, since owning it all I have done is put air in tyres, fuel in tank, lubed the chain and rode.. Never changed jets, never cleaned carby, never split cases, heck I havn't even rebuilt the top end and the bike has done nearly 1500km's and on the same set of slicks (I do now need new tyres though and should change the piston and ring).. So compare a bigger bike to the Minimoto in this regard and the bigger bike wins hands down..
Low injury.. Also very misleading.. I have done lots of damage to myself and seen lots of other riders break lots of different bones, tear tendons and muscles and so on.. It's not the speed that contributes to injury's..
How'd you go transporting your Minitard in the back seat of a car Greeny??
Minimoto is fun to a point.. But when there is no one else to ride against, it gets old very quick.. You are also limited to the amount of tracks you can ride on, Brisbane as an example: 2 tracks as opposed to 5 tracks you could ride a road/race bike on..
By no means am I trying to discredit any new riders, I'm just offering an informed choice..
