Rnd 7, Qld Race Series, 22/11/09..

It certainly was a hot day for racing but it is always pleasing to have the sunshine out upon us instead of rain.. The balmy conditions also saw the track offer up superb levels of grip.. We also had in attendance 39 individual riders..

Well, the final rnd for the Qld Race Series has been run and won.. This series was some of the best racing that has been witnessed and participated in.. Going into the last round saw Snr A/C Pro have 3 riders only have 3 points separate them for 2nd position and 1st place only 20 points ahead so it could have gone either way and certainly went down to the wire.. Also had jnr CAG classes separate riders by minimal margins and it all came down to the last round..
All classes were hotly contested all series and saw great numbers amoungts all classes and categories..
All in all it was a cracker of a series and it's only going to get better..

We would wish to thank ALL persons who volunteered their time during the entire series to ensure such fantastic days were had by all !!!!!!!!!

There were a few accidents for the days proceedings, two of which required the paramedics to attend..
A snr minimoto rider dislocated his shoulder and had the medic put it back in and an ambulance was called to take him to hosp for further scans, it turned out that they had also torn a tendon in their shoulder so will more than likely be out for the next round..
The other saw a jnr minitard rider go down and appeared to be seriously injured so the race was red flagged, the paramedic turned up, put a collar on the rider and loaded them onto a stretcher to take them to the on-site medical center to undergo further assessments and it was deemed that they had minor ankle injuries and were also dehydrated so an IV was hooked up to get fluids back into them..
Both riders escaped serious injuries and will be back in the future, but it is some of the best piece of mind to know that the best available care is at hand by fully qualified paramedics with fully equipped vehicles and medical centre..

On a side note to the accidents.. No riders are to stop at the scene of an accident to help, all riders must continue on their way around the circuit and an official will give them direction.. Also no spectator or rider is to run from the pits to the accident scene..
For a rider or spectator to run to the scene, or a rider to stop at the scene it only creates extra hazards for the other riders to avoid or for the paramedic to avoid.. No one is to do the above other than a race official, they are the ones who will decide the course of action..

The next race meet will be our 'Enduro rnd'.. Details are yet to be nutted out but will be up on the our forum with the next day or two..
The next race meet is also the last for the year as we have been advised that we will no longer be running the 20th December meet.. We will not be returning to action until early February next year so everyone can enjoy a well deserved break..

I have also acquired some minimoto stands that people have left behind.. Hamish I believe 1 is yours and Darren is the owner of the other, you can come around and collect them if you wish or I'll just bring them to the next meet..

As was mentioned at the meet, we are after 2 representatives from each category of bike.. These reps will be responsible for delegation of flag duties, passing on any queries to a race official and ensuring that riders have written their full names and race numbers on the sign on sheet..
We have 1 person from the Scooters and 1 person from the Motolites already but still require 1 each more.. This also leaves the Postie Bike riders, Minitard riders and Minimoto riders or parents to step up and offer your services..

Congratulations to each and every rider !!

Good call Glen on the accident situation.
People sometimes don't understand how dangerous it is to stop on a track mid race.It always amazes me when people...especially new to the sport..stop on the track, when their bike has broken down or someone else has crashed. Most of the times the race could of continued if they had simply moved to a safe area on the in field and if it was a major crash wait for the red flag and come to a stop so that the downed rider can be safely attended too...this is rule number 1 for any first aid officer....access the risk to themselves and control the risks before rushing in. This only can be done safely when riders obey the red flag rule.
