Round 4..
Numbers were good across the board considering it was a Bathurst weekend and some knew about the chance of the impending weather..
As you are all aware this meet ended early when the rain finally set in.. Although because we only managed to get in 1 point scoring heat it means that the points for the day would be very low and hardly worth contributing towards championship points, so this means that qualifying becomes heat 1 and heat 1 becomes heat 2.. If any riders did not compete in qualifying(like myself) then those people will be pointed the place behind the person who did do qualifying, if there was 2 or more riders who missed out in qualifying then they will be awarded equally in the position behind the person who did compete.. This was also mentioned on the day that qualifying was to become a heat race..
Other than that thanks to all the volunteers..
Round 5..
An absolutely spectacular day at the home of motor sport, bright blue skies and toasty warn conditions provided our backdrop for the entire day..
Excellent numbers across the board with a total of 55 competitors.. Also providing some equally excellent races for both the racers and spectators alike, some ding dong battles amounts the Jnr's was also fantastic to watch..
The cat is well and truly out of the bag now as to Lakeside's newest category of bike as you all would have seen.. It is a pleasure to be able to offer so many categories of bikes and is the one of the reasons as to why Lakeside is so popular and successful, if it was not for the backing of one of Australia's largest motor sport organizations(Queensland Raceways) this would not be a reality for any of us.. I myself would like to thank the boys for offering me a ride on one of their machines for a session, I had a ball and am well and truly hooked.. For those who do not know about our new category, we are now running 'Motolites' and 'Superlites'..This also bridges the gap for jnr's to progress onto bigger bikes and to my understanding is the only track in Australia to do so.. We had 4 riders initially come out to gage requirements and compliance and after the days events and outcomes it proved very succesful..
There were a few bingles for the day, the medic was called but no action was taken..
One rider had their points stripped after it was found that they were running a non-compliant barrel.. It is all riders and parents of junior riders responsibility to know exactly what is in their bikes.. Any bike, at stage can be pulled down after direction of a race official, there is the avenue of protest if others believe something is a miss but a race official can request it without any formal protest lodged.. Everyone must read the rules and fully understand what is required of them, if their is any further questions do not hesitate to contact Kim or myself..
Our new rotating volunteer flaggy system is working a treat, if any person is not fully up to speed with the new system once again do not hesitate to contact Kim or myself..
We have a working bee coming up to finish of our building(date yet to be confirmed) which will become the new riders briefing building and race control and some other improvements to track conditions to further increase the high level of safety that Lakeside provides..
Massive thanks to all those who volunteered their services to ensure the smooth running of the day, there is just to many to list but you all know who you are..
Congratulations to all competitors..
