Rnd 3, Qld Race Series, 27th Sept 09..(belated)

Well it was yet another fantastic day of racing, even with the very testing windy conditions..

There was a few casualties of the blustery conditions, but I'm sure the umbrella and quick shade will heal soon..

As always there was fantastic racing action across all categories of bikes.. The big numbers in Jnr minimoto continued today and even saw a growth of numbers amongst the ranks, we also wish to thank the other club for turning Jnr riders away and sending them to the massive Jnr ranks we have at Lakeside..
Maybe the other racers would agree that with the strong headwind down the main straight, that it felt like you were riding into a brick wall, at least that is what I felt all the way from turn 6 to turn 2..
Today also marked the first ever "inter species challenge", with Craig Euler from the Scooters laying down the challenge to me on my Pollini powered Banshee.. It felt quite strange having this huge bike in front of me and it just seemed like it was 5 foot wide and I questioned myself as to whether I'd be able to get around it, but then came along the 'back straight' and the mighty Minimoto powered away leaving the Scoot in its wake.. It certainly was fun dicing with the scooter towards the end of the race though..
YouTube - Scooter K Star vs Mini Moto Glen

As everyone heard today, we will be having a lap counting/timing system installed at some stage in the near future.. This would make the already smooth flowing day even more so as it is a fully automated system and does away with the need for someone to perform the tedious task of 'lap scoring'.. In addition to the timing system there will be control lights placed around the entire track, they are infared and controlled by race control, they also count all laps completed and count down each race and tell the rider how many laps to go/ last lap etc.. We will also have an additional speaker in place further down pit lane next meet so that all will be able to hear the P.A System clearly..

Lakeside is all about family fun in QLD's safest racing environment and with the rider numbers continuing to grow, let's keep it that way..

Congratulations to each and every rider !!!

Also, massive thanks to the days volunteers Janelle and Mike on the flags (thanks for showing Janelle the ropes Mike), Shelley Morrell for lap scoring, Zoe and Wendy for paperwork and points accumulation.. Without the help from our fantastic volunteers the day will not run as efficiently and smoothly as it does..

LAKESIDE RACEWAY !!!

Ronin,

Where does it state about advertising other forums in the rules?? There has been alot of links posted to other forums, some examples can be found here..

Victorian Titles Round in October

PBAWA Website Launch

New website www.minimotoz.com

It is my understanding that after all the who-ha about sigs causing fights, that there was to be no mention of any club "in any sigs".. But for the second time running have had my threads edited for mentioning NBPBC forum in the thread and not in the sig..

Those sites don't have a forum section ..your does ...It is in direct competion with this forum.
Surely you understand the concept that your opposition isn't going to let you advertise on their site!
If you replace the website in any post ..you will recieve a warning..After that you will be banned for 2 week..after that it will be a life time ban.
We don't mind you posting about events in your club...but please leave the reference to your forum out.

Rover

That's fine if that is what Chris has stated, I can live with that but just can't for the life of me find it in the forum rules or guidlines.. But I was under the assumption that any member can discuss other forums and other parts suppliers(non sponsors) freely and that they just can't include direct links.. I did not include a direct link and merely discussed it..
But in line with editing/deleting posts as they are in "competiton" with this forum and its interests, then why is it there is numerous threads where there is mention of non-forum sponsors and where people get parts from?? There seems to be no clear boundries..

So it is fine for me to include NBPBC's "website" and not "forum" ??

Glen#159, you seem to know the forum rules, very well...especialy as you were a admin on here for a short period of time. Iam surprised you missed this rule.

6. Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem can not be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions.

You are lucky rover replied first as I would of given you a weeks ban, considering you are familiar with this rule and quite clearly want people to follow the forum rules.

Now to your point of others advertising...well out of fairness I checked the 2 links you have provided....but you really are clutching at straws arnt you!!!!

The first one is to let people know where to down load application forms (which I think we can allow for the benefit of people requiring this)

The other, apart from stating that it has a link to this forum where discussions should be held, is only asking for other clubs or contacts so it can keep people informed. Which Iam happy to leave as this sport is small and needs as much support as it can.

So as rover has stated, and Iam sure you would already know, advertising a forum that would be and want of a better word a competitors forum, it wouldn't be allowed...well do really we need to tell you this. (were you an admin )

If you need to put a link to your club site, it will be treated as others...if the reason for the link is to give someone specific information,(IE download forms etc) then I think we could allow for that purpose. But just to place it here when any information ( IE. race dates etc)could be placed here is not on.

Now if we miss some links (that undoubtedly you will now be franticly searching for as you appear to not be able to accept things and move on) Then Iam very sorry for this causing you any stress that you have not been able to cope with, and I will endeavor to live up to you high expectations in the future if you do the same for us.

By all means promote your club..just not the forum.
As for others getting away..well there has been a few people who have had their posts edited. You are not the only one who we have had this discussion with.
As far as ..so long as its Ok with Chris ....well...need I remind you that we are the Mods on here and we run to strict forum guidelines so that all people get treated equally on this forum.
Yes it has always be an issue on this site with people linking or posting a link to another forum on this site. From day 1 it has been a NONO!
Crash Dummy when he was a Mod Banned a user for life because of this.
Take my advice now and promote your club Glen...not the forum and all is good!

Sorry Ronin but rule 6 does not apply in this case as I am not "argueing" the decision.. I am merely asking for clarification on it or as some people call it, "discussing"..

Yes I do understand the rules very clearly as I did the job, much the same as you guys are doing.. But I atleast showed the respect to pm members of any changes that I made to their posts but recieveved no pm from Coolie when he did it the first time or from yourself this time, I also only acted upon rules that were clearly stated in the "rules and guidlines section"..

Oh,
Thanks for the clarification Rover..

i tell ya what glen
between the 2 forums if i sent a pm to every single person i edited this would be a full time job.

i don't expect my mods to pm every single person but if said person continues to behave in the same manner time and time again then action will be taken.

now last time i edited your post you sent a lovely complaint to our friend chris as you always do when you dont get your way who then ask's me what is going on then i have to again explain myself and my mods actions when dealing with yourself and other members..... this is making my time here not fun and doesn't give me a high opinion of you (not that i don't like you glen) i just think if you had an issue with something i've done that you would have the balls to approach me before chris.

regardless i like your contribution to the forum it's good for the sport and your club and i read all of them and i ask you not to post direct links to your forum and all will be well

rgds.... coolie

p.s the track signals and laps timers will be sweet i hope we see some race results post some time soon

haha... I don't pay much attetion to what you write glen... but, I'm glad I did cause that was funny!!

I don't think its the club... I think its the competition! If I was a junior, I'd hate to race liam all the time too!! Thats for sure!! But on saying that, if you can keep up with him, you know you're doin' well!
Liam losing competition would be unfortunate for the sport, as I would hate to see him lose interest! That would be a great loss! I don't understand why you would even take it upon yourself to utter such a 'IMMATURE, STUPID' remark...

& once again, I (just a rider wantin' to ride) put forward that the 2 Brisbane clubs run on alternate Weekends, Everyone else can see WHY it would be a GREAT idea! but no-one will listen to me!
So, I propose that all the riders get together from both clubs & run a round robin or something together!
Obviously we would have to organize it ourselves, as no other monkey will, but I think we could make a great day of it! & maybe after we set it up, both parties might come to the party!!! It will only help grow our sport & Be a great day of pocketbikeness...or did I already say that?!?!

BUT AT THE MOMENT, THE ONLY ONE LOSING OUT IS POCKETBIKES & THE KIDS!! WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THIS GROW, YET WE JUST SIT BACK AND WATCH THE WIND IN THE TREES IN OUR OWN BACKYARD!!!!!
DON'T GET ME WRONG, I THINK ITS GROWIN', JUST NOT LIKE IT COULD!!!

'I wish to thank the Australian Titles, for bringing heaps of peepz to our track to race ...!!! ;-p..'
That was massive!

Lol, I only just saw this..

Well Mark we are only going by what the parents who were turned away are telling us.. But hey who cares..

As for your other idea..
Lakeside will not be changing any dates to suit archy.. The dates we run are giving to us by Queensland Raceway, we can not change our dates to be the off weekend to archy.. You bought this up when Lakeside was first formed and I told you then, that Lakeside will not be changing to the other weekend to suit Barry's plans.. It's just not going to happen period!! If Barry wanted something like this to happen, then he would have to be the one to cater to 'our' dates..

Other things to note..
* Would Barry be willing to make some major changes to the track safety and conditions??
* Would Barry be willing to pay for a qualified paramedic at all race meets??
* Would Barry or any archy riders get upset or annoyed that hardly any riders turn up to an archy event, due to their own reasons??
* It is well known that yourself and other archy riders who post on this forum and other forums, all carry on and say things like the 'noise levels', 'sliders' and 'race licence' is a joke!! Do yourself and these others now believe that they are a good thing??
* Is Barry willing to plan his year around us??
* We will soon be getting a timing system for ALL club meets.. Will Barry also be prepared to do the same??

We at Lakeside do not care solely about growing minimoto.. For us it is about offering, promoting and supporting all forms of 'motorcycle' racing (and going by the numbers we pull it is safe to say we are doing a fantastic job).. Our main focus is also not on 1 or 2 riders and supporting a national series, instead our main focus is 'club level racing' and growing all catagories of 'bikes' in the S.E Qld.. It's quite sickening that you believe that 1 or 2 fast riders 'MAKE' a club and that you also believe that everyone's main focus should be the Aus Titles and supporting a sport nationally when the sport in 'your' own backyard is suffering..
Would Barry also be willing to allow all these other forms of bikes we have to run there?? Also doing away with the go-karts to support all the other catagories we run?? Cause we are not about solely running minimoto and minitard.. You and many others had your chance to support Lakeside in the begining but decided to turn a blind eye, possibly hoping/wishing it would die.. Hell I supported archy for 2 1/2 years, through all the arguments, backstabbing, badmouthing, cheating and all out rubbish, Kim even spent a good year helping with lap scoring, canteen, Saturday Sign on's and first aid (being the only person to hold a St Johns first aid certificate), what did we get for all that??? Not a thing, instead we were at times treated like crap and spoke down at!!

Kim and I started out with just 5-10 riders per fortnight when we were just the minimoto club.. Now we are a bigger organisation it has grown to around 25-30 minimoto riders each meet and many more continue to join meet after meet, we have done this on our own with no help from archy what so ever, why do we need to join archy to help this grow in Brisbane?? Heck we had 55 individual 'riders' turn up for the race meet just gone..

Could this ever work on an amicable level considering the past history??

If there is any 'No' answers to the above (and I reckon it'd be fair to say there'd be a few) then it will never happen..
