GLEN #159 is on a distinguished road
Rnd 2, Qld Race Series, 13/09/09..

As expected the phenomenal weather that blesses Lakeside each race meet certainly did not let us down.. Once again clear blue skies and beautiful warm sunshine was over us all day long..

Once again Channel seven was at Lakeside today and Juniors Brielle and Miguel starring on the news tonight.. We will see whether we can get our hands on a copy and will have to post it up along with all the other TV exposure we have been getting this year..

As a repercussion to all the exposure we have been getting on TV, in the numerous shire news papers and not to forget the thousands of patrons that pour through the Lakeside gates to watch and compete on the main circuit, we have truly started the explosion of motorcycle racing for both the budget racer and the serious big money racer..
Rightfully so to, as Lakeside offers a technical and demanding circuit, 100% runoff onto soft green grass, fully equipped and qualified emergency paramedics in attendance at all race meets, top class facilities, excellent smooth track with high levels of grip, friendly faces as far as the eye can see, smiles with plenty of laughter, excellent competition across all categories of bikes that we cater for and personal indemnity insurance that is incorporated into the AASA license..
These are the reasons as to why we have riders from the Gold Coast, South Brisbane, Redland Bay, all over Nth Brisbane, the northern Bayside area, Noosa, the Sunshine Coast and all the way up to Bunderberg turn up meet after meet..

Today also marked the arrival of 'postie bike' racing.. Judging by the huge smiles on their faces and the eagerness to upgrade their day licenses to yearly licenses at the end of the day because they had so much fun, it was a HUGE success.. It was great to watch more like minded enthusiasts enjoy themselves as much as the next person and look forward to the next meet..

Once again excellent Jnr numbers in pocket bikes with 19 in total.. The junior racers certainly do provide some of the best racing action at each meet and it is a pleasure to be able to watch them develop their race craft.. We will be in talks with QR about a pocket bike related matter, if/when we get the go ahead it will be fantastic news for those involved and those able to get the privilege for what is in the works and will also be the only place in Qld that offers such a service.. In conjunction with what else we may have to offer in the near future is massive news for pocket bikes..

The medic was called today for a jnr rider, although it was only for a grazed hip it certainly is a relief to know that the best possible care is on hand for us all the time..

With the amount of riders turning up to Lakeside now and the amount of new riders that continue to turn up meet after meet, along with the huge amount of motorcycle related categories we offer.. We have now been forced to push the start time forward to 9.00am.. We ask that riders be signed on and set up before then..

As always.. Massive thanks go out to the days volunteers.. Wendy Hansen for paperwork and points accumulation, Zoe Hadfield for a fantastic job working the 'dummy grid' and Mike Minter / Wayne Baker / Craig Euler / Wil Carroll / Shelley Morrell / Hamish Brennan for duties on the flags..
