| Rnd 1, QLD Race Series, 30 Aug 09..
Once again we were blessed with magnificent warm conditions and blue skies for the first round of our Queensland Race series..
There was some excellent racing by all categories throughout the day, with the best battles coming from our junior pocket bikes and the scooters.. The juniors were amazing to watch as they chopped and changed positions trying to gain maximum advantage all around the circuit.. The scooters were fantastic to watch as they equally fought hard pushing each other to their limits.. The Supermoto was as always a spectacle to watch, with pilots riding on the raged edge and absolutely flat out..
Big junior numbers continued today with 22 youngsters all having the times of their lives.. The rate that juniors continue to flock to Lakeside, it will not be long until we see 50 juniors at each meet..
Some minor accidents today, all of which required no paramedic attention.. Young Julius 'Roger Lee' Cattanach suffered the most bingles but jumped straight back up and continued to battle on, showing some great determination and resiliance..
Come next race meet.. ALL riders who race in multiple classes MUST have the same number displayed on ALL BIKES.. Likewise if a riders bike breaks down, it is riders responsibility to ensure that the borrowed bike that they are on, displays their race number..
Remember folks.. We are heading into Summer months and that everyone should remember to 'Slip, Slop, Slap' and keep the fluids up..
All in all yet another fantastic and successful day.. Massive thanks go out to our volunteers.. Mike Minter on the flags, Zoe Hadfield for dummy grid duties, Wendy Hansen for points accumulation / paperwork duties and Karl Redmann for filling in, lap scoring..
Congratulations to ALL riders.. Best of luck in the future for the remainder of the race series.. LAKESIDE RACEWAY !!!!!
