well archy isnt...
it doesnt charge a yearly licence fee either...
makes it great for new people also, as they dont need to fork out so much money just to see if they like it..
with high prices comes people not wanting to pay so much to ride, so they have more chances to ride on the streets, resulting in pocket bikes getting a bad name and the people that ride having to pay for fines and getting there bike taken off them..
it all seems to add up./

hey Errol,
That's fine it's your call, if you have other racing commitments at Lakeside and this is to costly for you then so be it..
Tyrone.. Has Barry dropped his prices?? It used to be $35 for the first class, then $15 for a second class, then $10 for a third class.. So that would be $60 to ride in three or more classes.. Alternativly, $35 to race in 1 class and $20 to do a practice day = $55
Well for a Jnr to ride at Lakeside it is only $35 to ride in as many classes as they wish and $50 for a Snr to ride in as many classes as they wish..
Bit of a difference I'd say..
Errol, you'd already be paying the yearly license to drive your car around Lakeside..
Also Tyrone, $55 a year for an AASA license to be able to ride on a quality track and have available 'Qualified Emergency Paramedics' on hand and actually having insurance is well worth it, is also the reason as to why Lakeside is holding Qld's ONLY 'Goverend and Endorsed Titles'..
ps: It's not the club making anyone pay for a licence, it's Queensland Raceways.. So if this is an issue for you perhaps you should take it up with them on 1800 RACERS ..
You reckon it's expensive.. Maybe you should have a look at the race results and count up all the riders..

Yeh I am happy just to run cheap practice days with my mate at Archerfield.
If Lakeside starts having twenty dollar practice days again please post here to let us know because I'll be back. But I think it depends on your commitment to pocket bike racing but for me its just a bit of a hobby so paying the full price for race meetings is to much. I know they are building more facilities at Lakeside and I am helping fund the improvements to the car track with my entries in the car but pocket bike racing is just for fun for me.

hope to see you out there soon
if your race meet (won't even call it qld titles) is the only Governed and Endorsed Titles, which (by you) makes it the official qld titles, then i might hold my own qld titles in my back yard because it will be governed and endorsed by myself? that making it official by your rules right???

Hate to break it to you Tyrone.. You are not an approved governing body..
However, AASA is.. Hence why our Qld Titles and all our race series's is the only 'Governed' racing in Qld for Minimoto, Minitard and Scooters.. Furthermore it is fully backed by Queensland Raceways and hence why it is 'Endorsed', as Queensland Raceways are dedicated motorsport organisation..
Here is a link for your perusal.. Queensland Raceway :: 1800 RACERS
I think you'll need to flip a lot more burgers to come up with the cash to become a governing body.. But best of luck with it anyway.. |

Thanks for the congratulations.. I'll pass on the sticker though..
I by no means pride myself on this, but it does add a whole lot more credability to it..
At Lakeside we care more about our riders, their safety, their enjoyment and providing the best and safest track in QLD, not the Aussie Titles..

Glen, you are editing other peoples posts again. Have you been remade a moderator? Surely it isn't good to censor other peoples posts unless you are the duly decorated official? I really hate to see oppressive reaction to free speech and it is a free country.

By the way. You Queenslanders have it lucky. You have more than one track to race on and it's cheaper than NSW. We have to pay $75 for the first class and then $25 for the second. We also only have two classes to play with due to low numbers.
Practice days for us are $35 and thats if you are lucky enough to have the time to zip down to Wollongong to do it! Most folks who go for practice only get a few hours under lights to get it right.
Count yourselves lucky that you get to do it on a weekend. I wish we got the odd Saturday or Sunday practice. That would be gold!
