Hey guys, I am a new member to the site and to pocket bikes. I see that there is a working bee on sat at lakeside to prep the track. How can I get involved? I want to start racing soon and need to know how to get involved.

Hey bud,
Just turn up to the track on Saturday at 1.00 p.m and we can talk turkey...
As for bringing stuff, I wouldn't worry.. There is quite a few ppl allready bringing gear out and there is not really that much to do... Although if you have a ute or trailor we may use it, but like I say it's pretty much covered...

First official practice is on the 18th may... 2.30 p.m til 4.30p.m
Cost is $20 for a full hour riding broken up into 15 min sessions...
Additional cost is $55 per year for AASA license (Australian Auto Sport Alliance)... Or $20 for a 'day permit' which gives you 3 weeks to upgrade to full license if you wish and you just need to pay the extra $35 for the full license...
Please turn up at least 30 mins early...This will get paper work out of the way and ensure you get your full hour in ...
Hope to see you there.....

Also there is talk of running motards...
We have strong interest with at least 70 riders ready to go for the first meet...
And up to 150 not so far down the track...
But fear not, they will run alternate weekends to the pocket bikes ...
We will keep you all informed...

Sounds fantastic Glen, been talking it over with the other motard boys and we're all very interested Details would be appreciated, particularly with times. Considering the fairly short 2 hour sessions, would it be smoother to try something like 12-2 motards, 2:30-4:30 pockets instead of alternating weekends/days? Just a suggestion :s

Well with so many motards it would be probably just one weekend with a practice session just to let people get a feel for the track..
Then straight into a racing series..
That would mean it would be an all day affair, say 3 heats and a final..
But cause there is different capacity bikes ie: 125, 140, 250 .. They will be split into their own catagories...
But, i'm here to say that unless you already have a quiete muffler you would have to run a control muffler... The bloke that's pushing for motards who owns a shop that sells motards is willing to supply all mufflers to racers on the cheap...
We are only running a couple of practice sessions for the pockets just to gauge interest..
But after all the phone calls we've been inundated with from the news paper article and the advertising campaign we've been running, it will not be long untill we start a pocket bike series...
