At the moment we have enough fully paid members to affiliate our club with MA(over 20 members),we have spoken to owners of tracks from Woolongong to far northern NSW (Raligh),and the response from almost every owner was positive. As for your comment of ''all talk and no results'',it tells me you have never had to deal with ''red tape''..if it were up to us,we would be racing to night, but there are certain step's the people organizing a club have to take, that dont involve the average member or prospective member, like the many phone calls, meetings, and protocol that some of the governing bodies follow, that we in turn must follow. All this takes time,it may seem like nothing is being done but believe me it is.
As has been stated in other posts on this subject, the main goal at the moment is to build club numbers..so if you would like to help...join up,if you want to race..join up. The more members we have the louder our voice will be..thats what we need right now.Everything else in relation to the club attaining a track to practice/race on has pretty much been taken care of.
It is not out of the realms of possibilities that NSW MINIMOTO CLUB could have its first club race meet by June.
A copy of the club's minuet's are available to any NSW MINIMOTO CLUB member upon request.
I would also like to point out the fact ,that from the time it was decided to form a club here in NSW (about 3months ago) the progress made by my fellow committee members has been tremendous to say the least.
These are very very early days, the potential for growth in NSW is huge.In my opinion ,given a relatively short period of time to promote minimoto ,it could very easily surpass the number's enjoyed in the Karting world (its a well know fact that karting as a sport is on the decrease, the numbers have dramatically dropped over the past 5 years)
So try to be patient ,i know the going seems slow but in reallity, its moving along quite well.
If you need anything more specific in regards to what the club is doing behind the scenes,E-mail me at
secretary@nswminimoto.com and i will be more than happy to send you the required information.
Paul Borg,
NSW MINIMOTO CLUB SECRETARY.
