| | | Australian Minimoto Titles in May 2008.
Nsw minimoto Club is currently in talks with PROMOTO to organize a one meet (2 day) Australian Championship round. We, as a club are interested in seeing what the response from other states is like in regards to this Championship proposal, and weather or not VIC's, QLD'ers and any other states will be prepared to travel to compete. The eventual winner on the weekend will be unanimously recognized as the official Australian Champion for 2008. The track is situated in Raleigh, near Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid north coast. The track has been ranked as one of the top 10 tracks in the WORLD !!! Minimoto has NEVER been race at Raleigh, so it would be an even playing field for all participants. The track itself is on the side of a mountain, with fast flowing turns and plenty of technical bits including varying elevations, this track is spectacular !!!
If the interstate response is negative, the meet will still go ahead but will only be recognized as a round of the NSW titles.
Please post your opinions.
Regards, Paul Borg (Spook)
NSW minimoto Club.

Would this be only elite bikes or all categories?

Categories will be decided upon depending on grid numbers, so it will not just be for Elite bikes.
So far (1hour) the response has been amazing, PM's and phone calls all in agreement. I did say in my initial post that it would be a one meet, 2 day event to decide the Australian champion, this may be amended to a 3 or 4 meet event spread over the Eastern states (VIC,NSW,QLD).

If we can work together, 2008 should be a huge year for minimoto. An Australian championship will put us on the world map.
We have about 5 months before we race, that should give anyone who is seriously interested in racing plenty of time to organize themselves.
