| | Stock Class - does it actually mean "STOCK"
It seems to me that there was one really quick bike for the chinese stock class at Sth Morang last race. Even an official agreed with me that it was very obvious it wasnt stock.
After blitzing the first three races, i mention it to a guy who knew him and then what a suprise, he got a good start but purposefully went wide and slow in the first corner while even looking around watching people go by and then blitzing through the pack to take the win. Ive got it all on tape.
Ive also seen this guy at the Dandenong track where he races against the Euro bikes and mixes it with them. He is a good rider, but that bike aint stock.

Geeze that's not very nice at all. I wish people wouldn't do stuff like this. The last thing I want to see happening is people starting the whole major suspicion thing when somebody does really well or perhaps has a freak stock engine. It really is a case of just doing the right thing for the sake of everybody but some people aren't even capable of that.
So where will it end ? I can see certified crimp wire's post inspection coming into place eventually if stuff like this becomes common place.

Yes, the bike is very quick.
He is also a very good rider.
I did ask what if any mods have been done, his answer fell within the rules of class 3.
The gearing he is running is 7 / 68 as far as I know, and your gearing is 6 /68.
If you change your gearing you will find your bike will be much more competitive.
But there is always the rules.
Quote from the MMMCI rule booklet.
PROTEST: Protests will be issued at the end of the days proceedings. In a case where a rider protests against another rider’s bike, the protesting rider is to pay a fee of $50.00 to the clerk of the course. The accused rider is to also pay a fee of $50.00 to the clerk of the course. If the protest is found to be valid or if the accused refuses the bike in question to be checked by the technical director. The accused will forfeit any points gained on that day, lose the $50.00, which will be kept by the club and also play no further part in the days racing. The rider protesting will have their $50.00 refunded.
If the protest is dismissed: The protester will forfeit their $50.00. The accused will have their $50.00 refunded. And also be given $50.00 from the protesting rider for rebuilding work.
All rebuilding work will be complete by the bike owner in both cases.

also i was reading for a stock class you can have slight mods like pipe, carby but not over 15mm, reeds, wheel barings and change your gering so that could play a part in why he's bike is going pretty quick in the stock class

Better rider. More corner speed = more speed on the straights....

Ok, points made.
He is a bloody good rider, so perhaps his ability makes the bike look quicker than it is.
if i stand corrected, then i sincerely apologise for anyone i have offended. however, i was not the only one with this concern, but there is no proof to anything that has been said, so next time i will not speculate.
Again, i apologise to anyone i have offended.

Madmatt I thought I'd add on from what you've just said too. If you run 7/68 gearing on a stock class bike you won't have any troubles pulling it and accelerating out of the turns. All that matters is that you maintain a higher average speed and to make sure your accelerating through and out of the turns for the high speed stuff. It works quite well. If you see a stocker pulling a wheelie all the way down the straight though thats when I'd start scratching my head.
High corners speeds from an experienced > high power to speed down the straights. Races are won in the turns.

Yep 7/68 is the go for the cags.Good all round. As was said it makes you get more corner speed and thats where it counts. As for stock class we dont have rules up here yet.So anything goes at the moment.Aernt we lucky.Thats why i did the chainsaw mods:o) :o)
