northam motorcycle festival and PBAWA

Well finally we're getting somewhere. Now with the backing of Motorcycling Western Australia and actually being classified as a motorsport, the PBAWA has its foot in the door with getting some decent riding venues for 2009. The recent show at Northam Motorcycle Festival proved essential to get our name out there and we had some prime exposure to the public. The pocket bikes drew a huge crowd and everyone was impressed with how organised the club was. Many names were taken for memberships in the new year, with alot of people wanting to get their bikes out of the shed and back on a track again. Many thanks to Ken from MWA for giving us the chance to get our sport involved with a great festival and for putting us out there to be seen. Also thanks to Mike and Troy from Movement Systems for their tireless efforts and ongoing support of PBAWA and to all the members that turned up to support our club and make it a fantastic weekend.

Hope to see you all at the next ride

Organised?

I want to know who lied to the rest of us about where we were racing. Don't care who this pisses off, some of the attitudes within the club need to change, and if people are going to lie to us to get our money, and tell us things which aren't true (like racing on the supermoto track), then some things need to change BIG TIME.

The festival was an absolute joke, and I was better off leaving when I did out of disgust, because I managed to get down to the Wundowie Race Track where they race supermoto, and make some contacts for the club.

I am disgusted at the way the people who have been with the club since the beginning, and forked out all that money for very, very, very, very little gain were literally used the way they were.

EDIT:

And to a certain group of people who have been making certain phonecalls and abusing others. The reason they left was because they HAD to. I walked out in disgust, and they had no choice but to go off after me or be left in Northam.

Lukie, Nobody lied mate, the supermoto track was never on offer.

What we were offered originally was the carpark area where the honda and yamaha dealer displays were. For reasons I would rather not discuss on the forum we chose what we got instead.

But hey, the public got a show and we got to ride infront of some big crowds which promoted the club considerably. This was what Northam was primarily about, promoting the club.
And in regards to the club swindling money out of its members, this is a false assumption as firstly the club did not ask for money from its members to participate in the event, only that they join Motorcycling WA. The club actually spent money promoting itself for the northam event and received nothing in return except promotional exposure.

If you would like to know more about why we rode where we did you are welcome to PM me with your name and phone number and i will call you to discuss it.
