Angry Pocketbike riding for bendigo is a no go...

So... Here i go. Sunday night me and a few mates went and jumped the fence at the local go cart track here in bendigo. Had a few laps then a old bloke came upto us and this is when it all started. First he was cutting sick, throwing abuse left right and centre at us... then we got him to calm down and talk about it.

It looks like for Bendigo and surrounding areas, we will have less then 1% chance of being able to ride around legally or on a track. The AKA ( Australia Karting Assosation ) do not allow pocketbike's at all only any track's. This guy was the priesident of the Bendigo Kart Club, and says we are pushing shit up hill.

He said a guy named "Brian" ? has been trying for at least 2 years with no success. Not only would the insurance be massive for us, being 2 wheels, but its trying to convince the counsil to also let us ride.

So this has really dampened my spirts on pocketbike riding. Who the hell wants to ride up and down the street for 5 minutes with the thought of getting slapped with 1200$ worth of fines, then nigga bolting into your shed and hide etc?

For me and about 20 other local pocketbike enthusist's we are way too busy to haul ass to melbourne to ride ours bikes, or warnambool.

Does anyone have any solid info on the subject, if so can you share. The bendigo Kart Club have been trying to get a new track for 12years now, and no progress at all, yet in bendigo the counsil pops up a brand new skate park so more fearls can run a muck in the "Bronx" (Eaglehawk).

Sigh, i feel like a sook but bleh...

ps. the old prick also said to have any chance at riding on a track locally, a track would have to be slapped down right in private property...

instead of just jumping fence , one should have started from scratch . Someone must no people from the Kart club , talk to them find out what there issuse are . Talk to people from Motorcycling Australia about REC Licence and getting insurance though them . ALSO the most importent thing is that if TWO clubs are using the same track they can apply for dual usage funding

What he said about insurance costs didn't make much sense to me. There's plenty of minimoto tracks around Aus and they seem to be fine paying the insurance. And if what BlatRacing said about dual usage funding is true then the old kart guy doesn't have much of a point there, provided there's enough riders to cover the insurance costs.

I tried asking all of the Kart tracks on the Gold Coast and they pretty much said the same thing. I think a lot of it has to do with not wanting to associate with minimoto or sharing track time.
