Gold Coast Racing

There doesn't seem to be anywhere to race on the Gold Coast but I've found a kart track in Coomera called Le Mans (Google Le Mans Kart Racing). I'm going to call them this week about organising some pocket bike races and it would help if there was some interest. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Don't like your chances at coomera. There used to be regular racing at Parklands but due to council issues the facility was closed.
Weekend racing is held at Archerfield and a new MA track at Willowbank has come on line.
I'd be heading up to one of those two for a look.
You could always come up to Bundy. Our MA track has been running all year and is an awsome facility.

That looks like a great track but it's 5 hours from where I live. I'll check out Archerfield for sure though. Thanks for the info.

A mate of mine told me he used to ride at a track in Runaway bay accross from the skatepark and Red Rooster. Does anyone else know about this place?

oi mate i live on the gold coast and i want someone to race on the tracks and i have been trying to find a close track to race on too but dunno anywhere im keen to do some racing if we can get a few together we should race haha

Turns out Runaway Bay was a cycling track at the Sports Super Centre so I'm not sure about that anymore... I'm finding out more tomorrow. I've found three kart tracks though (all up past Dreamworld).

So I'll try to contact them about pocket racing. Archerfield being a 1 & 1/2 hour train ride away is a bit far to make a regular thing.

My friend tells me that the Runaway Bay track is okay for pocket bikes, and its FREE! The track is rather open with no real sharp turns and is about 1.3km long. It's on Oxely Drive, here's a picture from Google Earth



Speaking of GE I seem to have an eye for these tracks. I've managed to find 7, the hard part is always finding out what they are. I was looking forward to going to one particular one until I found out it was Parklands. Anti-climax...

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I've emailed the kart tracks, waiting to hear back.

I've heard back from Le Mans, they said their insurance doesn't cover anyone using their own equipment so they can't do it. Shame...
