POCKET BIKE RACING NOW AT CORAL ISLE'S KART TRACK BUNDABERG

Just letting you fellas know that after we finally got our act together here we now have pocket bike racing at the Coral Isle's Kart Track in Bundaberg fortnightly.

Coral Isle's Kart Track is definitely one of the better quality kart tracks in Australia as anyone who has raced there will testify, and we are very fortunate that Pete Saunders was more than willing to not only let us ride there but also offer to help start race event's for pocket bikes.

As numbers are fairly small at the moment there have been no classes organized yet (apart from water cooled and air cooled) but all are welcome no matter where you got your bike and the guys at the kart track are genuinely good blokes, but we're all very new to pb racing with regard to rules and regs etc... but any suggestions are welcome.

At the moment there is no actual race series and no prizes but just 6x6-8 laps of racing between Kart race's as they cool down and when racing is over you still have nearly half a day of track time depending on hire kart's. I know it's not much but it's a start and as more guy's get involved I'm sure it will develop into a full fledged serious pb race event .

In any case it's hell fun and well worth a bit of a drive if you're not too far abroad. The next race day is Sunday 6\3\05 cost of race nomination is $20 and racing starts at 8am. Any questions just give Pete a ring on 07 41593299 and hopefully I will see you on the track (just don't make me look bad) CHEERS.

Good stuff, I'll be bringing 6 to 10 bikes down from Gladstone as soon as I can get organised.

I have something on the 6th so it'll be the fortnight after.

Maybe I should come for a "practice" this weekend

Hey Stocky,
I think that it might have been you who e-mailed us at Rinki-Dink Racers about riding at Coral Isle's Kart Track. The computer has been re-formatted and your details along with others was lost forever.

You and your mates are most welcome (the more the merrier) any weekend but it's pot luck with the amount of track time you get because of the hire karts except for race day. They will let you on with the 4stroke hire kart slugs but it's get off the track time when the much faster 2strokes roll out.

Let me know what day you want to practice and I will try and round up some mate's and we will try to give you some fun competition.

Only about 5-10 at the moment but things shouldn't take long before it catches on here as my guess is that there are plenty of bikes but nobody seems to know that there is now a specific time and place to race PB in Bundy. I think that word of mouth might have to be helped along with some advertising.

Actually Pete mentioned that the Coral Isle's kart club travels to Rocky to race and the Rocky guy's in turn come to Bundy to race kart's at Coral Isle's. He also mentioned that the Rocky club has quite a number of pocket bike guy's that race fortnightly and has expressed interest in organizing interclub race meet's for pocket bike's from time to time once things really get rolling.

Need to make sure that Bundy and Yeppoon don't end up having their major weekend on the same fortnight.

I'll get onto the Rocky guys and see if they are keen to come too.

Can I make a weekend out of it and practice on the saturday ?

Don't want to suck too bad on race day ?

Yeah mate, Pocket Bikes are welcome at the track any day. (except Tuesdays the track is closed.) Tell you what...as you seem to be clued into organising things your end, it might pay you to give Pete a ring on 41593299 and get in sync with each other as I am only a "messenger" so to speak. Pete's a great bloke and only too happy to help guys like us out.

thanks steve, other racers and coral isles carting for a good weekend. had fun and now i know what parts are going to work for the track.
Talking to stocky qutie a few will venture down on the 20th march.
Anyone that would like to come down from gladstone/rocky, ive got room in my ute for your PB if you havent got room to take it yourself.
You guys from brissy it is an excellent venue to race at, hope some of yous will come up and have a go, plenty of pit area(bring your own shade), smooth long flowing corners and one hell of a hairpin, i recomend you use near 6/63 6/60 or 7/68 gearing (aircooled)unless your bike screams up top. cant really say for watercooled personally but i'd say you'll top out on the straight.
