RACE MEETING TOMMOROW[29TH OF july]

Hey guys, you wanna race ur pocket bike and become a minimoto legend? Well on the 29th of July 2007[tommorow] there is a race meeting at a track in South Morang! Please pass this info to all ur pocket bike mates and get them to come down and race!.

Some rules are:

TECHINICAL INSPECTIONS AND BIKE SPECIFICATIONS

BRAKES: Must have operational front and rear disc brakes which can be cable or hydraulic operated. Cables are not to be frayed.
ENGINE STOP: Operational engine stop (Kill) switch must be fitted to the handle bars.
LEAKS: No oil or fuel leaks.
COOLANT: No Glycol based coolant allowed, must use water wetter/ engine ice or similar additive or straight water in radiators.
FUEL: Unleaded or lead fuels only, octane rating and manufacturer open. NO, methanol, NOS, Nitro methane, fuel is permitted.
* Please provide a log book when requested.
TYRES: Tyres must be in good condition and not showing any signs of excessive wear, no canvas showing.
FRONT FORK ASSEMBLY: No excessive play in steering head assembly and head stocks must be covered.
WHEEL BEARINGS: Wheel bearings must not have excessive play.
AXLES: Front and rear spindle & spindle nuts to be tight.
CHAINS AND GEARS: Chain and sprockets in good condition. Chain guard to be fitted and adequate.
FRAME: No cracks in chassis or wheels. All nuts and bolts to be secure.
BODY: Bike must have a full or half fairing adequately fixed.
THROTTLE: Throttle must snap shut when released.
FOOT PEGS: Foot pegs must be fitted and may be fixed or spring-up type.
Pegs must be plastic, rubber or plastic coated steel or aluminium only.
Bare steel pegs are not permitted. All outer edges must be rounded.
HANDLEBARS: Handlebar ends must be fitted or bar ends solidly internally plugged.
MUFFLERS & EXHAUST: Mufflers and/or exhaust pipes can not extend rearward past seat fairing and not have any sharp ends.
GEARING: Gearing ratios are open in all classes.
SEALS & BEARINGS: Seals and bearings are open in all classes.
THROTTLES AND LEVERS: Throttles and brake levers, (levers to be blunt ended and not sharp) are open in all classes.
PLUGS: All oil drain or filler plugs must be safety wired.
RADIATOR OVERFLOW BOTTLES:
Radiator overflow bottle caps are to be safety wired.
RACE NUMBERS: Race numbers that have been assigned to you from the club, must be a minimum height of 60mm, must be displayed on front and on both rear side of the bike, and must be readable at a minimum of distance of 15 meters.

ADDITIONAL REQIUREMENTS

NOISE RESTRICTIONS:
No bike is to exceed 95 dbl.
SMOKING: No smoking in pit area.
FUELING: No smoking while refuelling of bikes.
WALKING PACE: Walking pace in pit areas at all times and helmets must be worn at all times while riding of bike.
SCRUTINEERING: All bikes to be used on the racing surfaces must pass scrutineering. This includes spare or back up bikes. No bike may enter onto the racing surface during a race meeting without having passed scrutineering. If a bike is involved in an incident, then the bike is to be re-scrutineered to be asset as safe for racing.

All glass lenses, indicator, etc must be removed from bikes.
Oil drain and filler plugs must be safety wired.
Other fluid filler caps must be securely taped.
Kickstands must be removed.
Any hoses carrying fluids must be clamped or safety wired.
Catch tanks must be fitted to any drain hoses.


MINIMOTO RACE DAY FORMAT:

Gates open: Will depend on track location.
You will be notified by email on times.

Application of entrant: This is preferred by email or post the Thursday previous to race day, but entrant application will be accepted on race day.

Scrutineering: For a period of 1 hour after gates open.

Riders briefing: To include flag recognition, track inspection and safety awareness.

Marshal’s briefing: To include flag recognition, safety awareness and first aid awareness.

Marshal’s and first aider’s allocation: Track to be fully functional by first aider’s and marshal’s previous to practise.

Practice: For a period of ten minutes each, based on the following classes.
Junior class 1, 2, 3 & 4
Senior class 1, 2, 3 & 4
Junior class 5 & 6
Senior class 5 & 6

Lunch: For a period of 30 minutes.

Marshal’s and first aider’s allocation: Track to be fully functional by first aider’s and marshal’s previous to racing.

Racing Starts: As per Race Directors instructions.


NUMBER OF LAPS PER CLASS.

CLASSESS 1, 2 & 3: 4 Heats of 5 laps.

CLASSESS 4, 5 & 6: 4 Heats of 7 laps.

CLASS SPECIFACATIONS

CLASS 1: 3.4hp PRODUCTION* AIRCOOLED:

All 2.5kw / 3.4 hp Production Bikes

Bikes must be no more than 2.5kw / 3.4hp production* bikes. Modifications allowed to clutch springs, air filter, carburettor (Maximum 15mm bore), exhaust, reed material open, spark plug, bearings and timing key. All bikes are to use any Chinese made grooved or slick tyres. No modifications to any other part of bike. Non-programmable ignition systems must be used. No material may be removed from any part of the exhaust and carburettor. Also no engine porting, polishing, matching, balancing etc. are not allowed. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.

CLASS 2: 4.2 PRODUCTION*:

All 3.1kw / 4.2hp Production Bikes.

Bikes must be no more than 3.1kw / 4.2 horsepower production* bikes. Bikes may be aircooled 40cc with 3 port barrel. No engine or carburettor upgrades, maximum 15mm carburettor size. Any production exhaust, clutch upgrades or reed upgrades are allowed. Tyres and rims are open. No other upgrades are allowed. No material may be added or removed from any part of the carburettor or engine and porting, polishing, matching, balancing etc. are not allowed in this class. Non-programmable ignition systems must be used. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.

Production bikes of no more than 2.5kw / 3.4hp may have all parts open except must use standard crankcases for that model: Non-programmable ignition systems must be used. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.

CLASS 3: CHINESE AIR / WATERCOOLED UP TO 50cc PRODUCTION*:
Euro production 6.8hp also is included in this class.

Bikes must be of Chinese origin, up to 50.1cc air or watercooled five port. Bike upgrades include reed material, exhaust, and clutch only. Maximum 19mm carburettor. All parts are to be of Chinese origin except for upgrades.
Only crankcase modification that is allow, is for a Chinese Blata replica big bore kit piston to have clearance within the crankcases,(ask the Race Director if unclear on this ruling).
Tyres are open.
Euro production bikes of no more than 6.8hp with no modification is also allow to enter this class. Proof of Hp may be required upon request.
No other modifications allowed. No material may be added or removed from any part of the carburettor or engine and porting, polishing, matching, balancing etc. are not allowed in this class. Non-programmable ignition systems must be used. No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.

CLASS 4: OPEN 50CC CLASS.
(Please note: Only riders with a minimum of 1 year experience within a motorcycle discipline may enter this class).

Any make or model of minimoto / pocket bike up to
50.1cc capacity:
Wheels must be 6.5’ maximum.

All specifications are open.
Non-programmable ignition systems must be used.
No combustion enhancers such as NOS may be used and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.

CLASS 5: MAXI BIKES

Capacity: Up to 50 cc two stroke or up to 110cc four stroke.
Motor: Chinese
Maximum 10’ wheels.
Gear box: CVT or locked in one gear no manual changing of gears.
All other parts open.
Chinese tyres. (Slicks or treaded )

CLASS 6: MOTARD FOUR STROKE.

Capacity: Maximum four stroke 110cc juniors and 125cc seniors.
Motor: Chinese.
Gear box: Gear box maybe used.
All other parts open for seniors.
All others parts stock for juniors.
Tyres: 12 inch Slicks or treaded, no nobbies.

hand book is subject to change without notice.


One rule that has now changed is tyres! tyres are now open in classes 1,2,&3
i also think 5& 6 r to!
This means that you can use stickier tyres[eg. pmt's,sava,vee rubber etc] for better grip!
