i think its the old man his posts seem more mature than the first few the young bloke posted

from what i can tell yes you may find a track that will allow you to run

but the catch will be you will need to be a member of a specific club or have your own insurance for them to even think of letting you run a kart bike etc...

its all about insurance & some track owners may not allow you to use their facilitys even with insurance

its bets to contact the relivent club comittee or meet with the track owners where you intend to run

In short no as far as I know your not going to be able to just design a car and be able to flog it on a track. Your only chance is if you build the car to a current or upcoming specification and then have it fit into a CAMS class.

I could be wrong on this but I think you'll be hard pressed finding anywhere to use it at all.

actually thats correct depending if its going to be classed a a kart or a car

other things to look at are fire proof race suits neck braces etc etc

if its a car it will be governed by cams regulations if its classed a kart it still needs to have minimum specs like axle thickness solid or hollow etc as even senior carts have strict regulations on what can be used on a AKA & other tracks

Misinformation at its best.
Wakefield Park in Golburn is the closest track with limited restrictions. Turn up, buy your practice licence ($50) and your track hire fee ($100) and run all day.

Next step up is a 2S licence. This will allow you to compete in Supersprints (so long as the car is eligible). Eastern Creek have 2S private practice days once every few weeks or so. Its just off the M4 past Parramatta.

Next step up is a PC licence which will allow you to compete in speed events on a closed circut and allow you to go to private pracitice days open to PC and above licence holders at Eastern Creek, Wakefield and Oran Park (near narellan).

To obtain a 2S you must join a cams afilliated club, and pay the $79 licence fee. To get a PC licence you must join a cams afilliated club, get a medial with an approved doctor, do a lecture and theory test, and finally complete an Observed Licence test.

Have a look on CAMS

Misinformation ?? M8 this is a pocket bike forum so we wont have all the answers on this subject

I think I mentioned cams regulations uh huh yep I did actually crash dummy mentioned cams also .....

& did you read his post ?, he is intending to build his own car & depending on class, track & what regulations are in place, if he intends to race interstate the regulations may change ?

Things like fuel cells harnesses if a roll cage is required are all points to look into b4 he starts his build

So it would be best to contact the relivent track or club & or others doing this form of racing & what the scrutineer's of the particular class he intends to race will look at

Is it going to be a car or gixerkart style machine etc etc ..........

there is more to look into & a pocket bike forum can only try to point him in the right direction with the limited info he has posted for all we know it might be a 700cc engine in a Wheelbarrow
