I was wondering if the GoldCoast shut down for track resurfacing or for 'noise'. I had head they shut it because of local whingers!

I'll be back in Australia in the new year and would love to blow the dust off my bikes and take to Parklands again, saves the $1200 tickets when you get pulled over by imigrant cops

Does anyone know any news of Parklands? (and yes i'm looking through old threads too)

More like their insurance company was passing nuggets, due to the metre square grates they had in the middle of the main straight ....

parklands track closed down as they say because of "noise" problems but after my dad and someone else went further into it to see if we could continue riding there he then found out they closed down due to lack of insurance....the track has been resurfaced for the drift car meets that have there regulary.

I really hate insurance.... What's it even there for? When Dad got injured at Archerfield insurance didn't do shit. He was off work for weeks and being self-employed he doesn't get sick leave or anything.

Yeah I think they closed Parklands maybe 18-22 months ago. Im sure some of you racers will know exactly, as I used to just go during the week for fun.

I cant wait to be back on the Gold Coast though and yeah I might have to make the trip to Archerfireld, wherever that is Not far from Kingston if I remember rightly.

Do they run stock races for unmodified bikes there?
