I would quickly just like to add, that when the Blata Elite 14 R was taken to the Pooraka track for the first time it attracted a lot of attention and was highly praised, even by people that new they were going to have to race against it in the up coming winter series. I am not knocking interstate clubs ( as I have never been there, hopefully soon though) but would like to add I am very happy and proud to race with the Adelaide guys, your all a great bunch of people.
Sorry A bit long,
Hi I am the happy new owner (Ian) of the Blata Elite 14 R in S.A., I usually read these forums but rarely post, but as I have had a good laugh reeding some of the replys in this forum I wish to tell people from an un biased position my experiences as I own a 6 port BZM 05 GRC as well as my new toy Blata Elite 14 R. First I will start with the GRC it was suppled and motor built by Maylands Performance, the motor was built after much discussion to suit my style of riding and Brian has done an Exceptional job, the GRC has lowered my lap times considerably and yes it does handle extremely well, it does not get upset by uneven surfaces ( it does have an adjustable steering dampener )and is very easy to ride quick.
Now my impressions of The Blata Elite 14 R, First I would like to thank Oz Minimoto, and Darren for great service and bringing Blatas to Australia. I would like answer a comment made in a previous reply first, GRC are expensive because they have a lot of shiny parts, well this is true but the Blata looks great to and has just what it needs to perform ( I would rather get results than look good, but both bikes look great.) As for the ride I cant fault the Blata, it has no steering dampener (one to be fitter soon, more for interest on my part than any need) and didn't get upset or even feel the unevens in the track just like the GRC. The ride had a slight different feel, the GRC felt a bit softer but this is not a criticism as the blata did feel like it was on rails and I could push through some corners with throttle where my Lucky 7 needs shutting down, The lines I took and throttle position was comparable to my GRC. To sum up the Blata out performs my Lucky 7 considerably & the 7 has had a lot of development and cost about the same to get performing. The Blata has been purchased to do a job and I believe will do it exceptionally well, and has been a very inexpensive option to get a Euro bike, and although I understand my GRC is a water cooled bike and comparison with the Elite 14 R air cooled is difficult I can say I am just as happy on the Blata for handling as the GRC, would be nice to try a 50 wrr or 40 wrs.
In conclusion would like to say to all the people that nock different brands to what they own, go start your own series where just cags or GRC etc run.. wouldn't be very interesting to watch though. I like and encourage variety and please keep this sport fun and politically free, as that is why I am, and sure others are in it.
P.S. Also do your self a favor and find someone with a Blata become their best friend and go for a ride. I am sure your opinions will be favorable. For a cheep quality Euro take a look at them .. don't comment negatively if you haven't even seen one up close or ridden one.
This post isn't meant to offend anyone good humored joking is great for the community but some posts are just beyond offensive and stupid. Support all your PB dealers cause if we lose them it wont be fun walking around tracks.
Sounds great Ian,
Im Very very interested to see both the GRC and More so the Blata in action, as ive never seen a Blata in the Flesh, Looking forward to seeing it in the next few weeks.. Ill be down there next week end so hope to see you and Your new rides there :
Also I agree with you on the Comment about the SA guys, everyone over here is always wanting to help out/And Support everyone.. And im really looking forward to a big winter Season..
I'm very sure that some Blata's out there have won up agianst GRC's. Fancier part's. That's all it is. Put up a Origami B1 50cc and a GRC RR. I sure wouldn't be surprised one bit if the Blata won. But after all GRC's have always had fancier part's on em'.

id like to hear the results from HIROSHIMA SCREAMER once he gets a ride on a 50cc Blata Elite 14WRR

Mac, i'd love a ride on a Blata 50 to compare it to the RR. I have ridden hard against the 40cc Blata's at Indy800 and found them to be very competitive, although obviously the 40 lacks the kick in the pants the BZM 50 delivers. With a good rider like Ryan (Sydney) the Blata holds it's own against the Italian bikes quite well. The guys that own them swear by them, i sat on one last Thursday night, and felt they were a little too small for my comfort, thats not to say someone else wouldn't feel right at home on one. Im not going to knock the BLATA as i haven't ridden one yet, but judging by what i have seen at the track in the hands of extremely competent riders like Ryan, Tim and Glenn, they look to have a lot of potential. I'll be very interested to see how the BLATA preforms with a 50cc powering it against the likes of ZPF DM and GRC. The only problem i see with the ones here in NSW is the lack of top end grunt (40cc) The BZM 50 smoke's them every time.

74....come on now, you may have the edge when it comes to ''skill'', but be honest now....you know my BZM out grunts you out of the corners and at the very least goes toe to toe down the straight, my offer of a standing start drag race still stands mate. I will say also, the BLATAS pull hard out of the corners, and on a tight track those 40's will take it up to anyone, especially with a good pilot on board.
ok i'll take your drag race challenge but & this is the kicker you have to weight your self up to mtach my weight so then we are comparing apples with apples
& the only reason your bike is a little quicker off the corners is you lack of weight come on what r u 65 soacking wet i am 80 bone dry so come on get 15 kilo's of extra weight & it's on like donkey kong
