I just received an update on how well the Phantom bikes are doing in Italy.
Here is the email I received.

'One more info - our non professional rider is placed as the 2nd in the Italian Cup of Constructors with his GP SPORT bike. Not bad!

Once again rgds,'

The Phantom factory has informed me the bikes should be ready for delivery by the end of the week I hope.

1st round of the European championships were held last weekend.
Phantom came 2nd in the open class seniors, which is not bad at all as this is their first year in the titles.
Here's the link to have a look at all the results.

This is a short coversation about the new Phantom from a buyer in the UK, between (Australia)and (UK).

Thanks for the info Paul.

UK
Yeh i have a phantom

Australia

how do you like it? i am undecided between the phantom and a dm

uk

haa i have both phantom and dm

must say the phantom tho

Australia

you like it better?

UK

phraww there awsome its hard to explain but they just sit into the corner perfect go round the corner and out just how you want it too

ill show u a video of me riding it 2 weekend ago

Me me

yeh i do

Australia

nice will watch the video

UK

by the way thats mee winning the race i just caught the last race up

Australia

hows the build quality?

UK

i mean the next like pack of a different race if u get me because there are 3 races on the track at the same time

Super B Super A Super Superlights

Its built sound the pictures dnt do it justice it looks stunning up front

Australia

yeh i was expecting it to be better than it looks in the pics, i am looking at getting one with the 50cc or motor, how do they compair to the bzm?

UK

Well my engine hasent finished yet as i got it one day before the start of the season so i havent had time to tune it yet as they come to what ever type of tune you wwant them(unlike any other minimoto dealer in the world) Because no other minimoto dealer offers to tune or do what ever u want to the bike if u get me.

But at the moment

on the dyno

as standard

Have u ever seen a dyno graph?

Australia

yes

UK

Okay then

The graph shows so much more then the bzm engines when the bzm engines drop off after it has reached its peak rite. This engine the OR engine carrys on at full peak for quite a long time before dropping off so you have got so much more out of these engines

they can have 8 petal reed cages which are brilliant too

Australia

thanks for the info, so do you have the mono arm phantom or the gp sport? its the mono arm i an looking at

UK

Im getting my new swing arm today

gp sport

Australia

oh ok, have you ridden the mono arm one? my main worry was how it would handle and if having the weight all on one side would affect it

UK

I havent but in italy there like the popularist bike

and they are very popular over the world now eveywhere except england

as before know no one has seen them in flesh

Australia

i see they did well in the first round of the european champs

UK

Yeh

Here is one of the O R engines I received.
This engine came second in the European open 50cc class titles.

The O R engine is manufactured to extremely high standards by GM Phantom.
These engines are Italian made thoroughbred 2 stroke race engines.
The crankcases, crankshaft, cylinder, cylinder head, clutch and clutch drum/housing are all Phantom produced.
Both the internal and external appearance of the crankcases are CNC machine finished.
The Racing Crankshaft has feeder holes in the “webs” which give an additional supply of charge mixture to the rear cylinder boost port when the crankshaft is in the appropriate stage of its cycle.
The crankshaft is also available in both silver and gold stroked specifications.
This engine has a 6 Port arrangement with the Exhaust port flanked on either side by auxillery ports.
