Just finished fitting hydro brakes to my new Blata rep. I bought a lamas group cag with hydro brakes a few months back, but when i saw the Blata reps going for only $50 more than i paid, i had to have one, got it for $225 + freight. Anyway, i decided to swap the brake systems over on the bikes, it seemed silly to not have the stronger brakes on the faster bike.
So here are a few pics in case anyone else is thinking of the same idea. Front brake - The lower caliper mount had to be cut to allow the hydro caliper to fit and a new hole drilled to mount it. An additonal plate had to be made to go from the existing top mount to the new mount.
Rear brake - the caliper bracket that came on the lamas cag almost fit perfectly on to the blata, just had tweak it a little to align everything.
The hydraulic brakes work great, alot more stopping power than cable so you can brake later and harder when your trying to make a pass. Another good thing is i dont have to pull apart the calipers to get the front wheel off as i did with the blata cable brakes.
