Red face Tough or Weak Clutch Springs

Hey Guys,
just wondering what clutch springs to use. Ive herd 2 different storys from mates,

1) Weak Clutch Springs - if i used weak clutch springs then the motor wouldnt have to sprain to engage the clutch springs...

2) Tough Clutch Springs - if i used tough clutch springs then the motor would have to rev to engage the clutch... meaning the motor would be closer to powerband so there would be more power...

what do you guys think on this matter?

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
you should allways have good / strong clutch springs as if one breaks this will cause damage to the shoes. as you mentioned, the weak springs are not worth having as these are stock springs and DO break also they allow the clutch to grab to early in the rev range. the heavy duty springs are a much safer option as they won,t break as easy plus the clutch will grab abit later in rev range. the best of all options is the adjustable type clutches, 2 or 3 shoe as these types allow fine adjustments so you can set the grab at higher engine rpms.

yes, try the 3 shoe adjustable as the extra shoe will assist in less ware, compared to the 2 shoe.
