cag/blata hybrid

me and carter have been working on a cag/blata hybrid project

the motor:
STOCK bottom end (stock crank)
40mm flat top piston (from a watercooled)
40cc barrel NO boost ports
a/c blata head modded to fit
stock ported and rejeted carby
STOCK tin reeds
exhaust port spacer

The motor

the motor in the bike

note how i had to cut the head to make room for the pipe

with this setup the motor had a very very good top end power (for a stock crank any way)

but in an attempt to get some lowdown power i put a timing key in it
and that sriped one of the head bolts

so tomorrow i'll rebuild the motor with all the good stuff (and a fc crank!!!)
stay tuned!

today i made a bottom end to match the top end.

bottom end:
fc crank
c4 bearings
better seals
2 gaskest
i made studs that screw in (that will stop the head trying to jump off)
i set the squish up right to its .54 now (it was .25 when it sripped the bolt)
i put a cutdown bizeta reed in it (to match the bizeta piston in it )
i put a 14/14 dellorto on it too (i made it fit)

test:
once it gets to around 5500-6000 the power band kicks in and it really pulls
but... its only got the stock ports in it so once i put a big fat boost port in it, it stould have a lot more grunt and rpm (atm it only pulls 11000)

and tomorrow once i get the motor sorted i'm might try a slipper clutch
