Rear Brake Broken?? -- it's touching the metal disk

Just wondering if this is normal, it does not seem to be...

as the pictures show a section of the rear brake is touching the metal disk and I'm guessing causing drag.

Any and all thoughs/comments are welcome!

PS What is this part and what's it for? The front brake is NOT like this one!

Any/all help would be great, thank you in advance!!

Cheers,
Dean

What if you need to stop quick and you hit the front brakes hard and flip?

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
groundeffect, the pic number 3 shows the anti- vibration mount touching the disc, this is not right you must check this as it needs to come in closer to the caliper, has come loose.

thanks for your feedback guys.

I would like to keep the brake on the bike.

RD RACING: can you explain a little more, I'm a newbie and I'm don't know what a caliper is...

Do you have any idea how to adjust this?

Thank you
Cheers,
Dean

dude you'd grab the front brake just as hard with or without the back brake bein there, and if the front brakes had enough bite to flip the whole bike and rider over, i wouldnt have so much difficulty when i endo mine

thanks dawall, taking the brake off is an option, but I'd rather not.

dawall: Can you tell me how this happened, or how to fix the issue?

Thanks.
