yeah..... and no :p depends - less oil mean less lube for the engine to move with. If your still on your first two tanks - stay @ 25:1 after that move up to about 35:1. But try out 30:1 first and then try 35:1 and you will see the diffrence then.

yeah should be - I am starting to lean to 40:1 as well but then I am running a 15:1 compression head as well :p

If its over heating tho I'd go back to 35:1 - you know its over heated if you lose a heap of power and its still reving just as hard.

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
one thing to remember with oils is 25 to 1 is for mineral based 2 stroke oils, above 30 to 1 is for full synthetic 2 stroke oils. never run above 30 to 1 on mineral based oils.

another point that needs to be taken into account & is often overlooked is the amount of oil affects the amount of fuel so be carefull not to go too rich in the oil side if your current carb jetting is set for 40:1 etc this might give plenty of lube but can still lean out. this can be usefull for minor mixture adjustment within reason. realistically select a ratio & stick to it.

this an excellent thread.. but as im new in pbs, and have searched for ages!!! - i havnt yet come across a threat which describes the exact brand of petrol to use...

what petrol is best?
what oil is best?
is premade fuel better than fuel u mix urself?
what retailer is best for getting this shit off?

thanks guys\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/.../\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

it also depends on the oil you use. my bike likes shell r30 at about 30:1 but has a slight flat spot opening the throtle at 2/3 revs. tried castrol 747 love it 35:1 no flat spot, no fouling whilst idling. clean all the way. but is not the same for all bikes sugest to try a few diffrent brands depens on the mods on your engine. would stick to 30-40:1 RATIO.
