Engine Assembly

Hey guys,
i bought a blata rep and have pulled the engine out to build it bigger and better. however before doing so i did a seal and it was making the motor sound absolutely sh!thouse. while i have the motor apart to do the seal i wanna build it alot quicker. i am looking to spend about $300 on it but i wanna do the work on it myself and am only new to this. i was going to get the mad postie to do it but i moved to rockhampton and no longeer live near him. does anyone have any recommendations for it? and where do i find a manual on how to put a blata rep bike back together properly? i will be looking at racing it at gladstone as soon as the footy season finishes. any help will be awesome thanks guys

i think if you want performance out of your engine you should contact dazza from ozminimoto & use some genuine blata parts

i have not yet seen a instruction or engine manual for them as there is not alot to them

a genuine 17 mm dellorto & genuine blata clutch would be well worth the $$ but depending on what you want to change
dazza will know what genuine internal parts are interchangable & what parts are best to replace for performance

im thinking cylinder & head piston pin rings berings ....... even a new crank the blata cranks will have better berings pressed in & balanced alot better than any chinese rep crank

get on to ozminimoto & see what sort of package they can do for around the $300

then you will have the rep parts leftover to sell or keep for emergencys

hey man, if you want performance out of a blata rep, go with a 19mm del replica carby. they are in my opinion instant massive gains. chuck in some blata genuine carbon fibre reeds, a chinese top end kit, blata genuine water pump seal, impaler, bearings, gaskets etc and you will be under $300 with money to spare. not sure what class you will be racing in, check before doing the mods

while you have the crank cases apart take the time to mod the cases so you can bolt on a big bore kit or so someone else down the track doesnt need to spilt the cases to do so as for rebulding the motor just reassemble it as u tear it down its pretty strait forward and easy

below is what i ordered from ozminimoto today- pay for it in the morning then just wait for it to get here- its not gonna do anything special as yet but its the little things i really need to get to get it visually finished, as well as other parts i got for spares etc.

8 new wheel bearings
Spark plug
fuel filter
race throttle
new blata seat
blata sticker set
racing numbers x 24
blata reed cage with carbon fibre race reeds.

all that cost around $240

today i received my full gasket kit as well as a pair of carbon fibre reeds for the blata rep

i am awaiting my foot pegs and a new alloy pull start for the blata as well as a high tensile pack of bolts etc.

Next thursday i am hoping to order the following

dell rep PHBG19mm carby
Blatawaterpump rebuild kit
new clear blata windscreen

as well as a clutch and some gears- can some one point in the right way for what gearing i should go with to race at gladstone qld.

cheers guys
