How many coats of primer do you need? And then how many coats of paint? And do you think it would be better off to leave a red/white bike or to paint it like a metallic blue or a flat or shiney black?
THanks for any feedback

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
normally only one coat of primmer is needed as this is the base coat needed for adhesion of the top coats, apply the primmer / undercoat so you have a decent amount but not too much on the surface then you will lightly sand with the mentioned wet/dry paper for a smooth finish ready for the top coats yes 2 coats. remember the color you choose as it is best to choose a color that is easy to touch up if or when you get it scratched. a high gloss finish will show up more inperfections than a lower sheen paint such as satin. say high gloss black you must have a well preped item to paint compared to a satin finish.

double
I would'nt think a clear coat would be needed. If using a good quality paint you can get a very nice finish with a bit of polish. One thing though is if using tape to separate colours be careful as a build up of paint may cause the line to feather on the edges. Not a good look.

I used the auto touch up paint from Supercheap....its tough as nails,so long as the prep work is done properly,i sprayed it on about 3months ago,and there's still not a scratch on it.(the mark on the seat cowling is from grease,i was working on the car)
