the compression in a headstrong kit

Hi all,

i was wondering whether anyone knows off the top of their head what the compression in the compression dome is on a pbu headstrong kit. And i'm finishing off work on my custom r1 so i was wondering whether it would be better to leave a rocket key out of my bike if the compression of the compression dome is already high.

cheers

You have a choice. My one is supposedly 17:1. I think standard they come at 15:1. I say supposedly because true compression ratio in a 2 stroke is not as easy to measure due to the ports. Generally, they are never accurate. In the outboard world we tend to go by Psi generated, measured with a compression tester. Sorry about the over information, but I can't halp it.

8) Have to agree with no idea,Dont even think about advancing the timing on an R1 ,as a stock engine they are allready way to far advanced, and with high comp,by,by, piston and engine gauranteed.

so are you saying that even with the stock woodruff key, if i put a headstrong kit on there it would be too much for the motor

8) r1 rider,There is no prob's at all running high comp on an r1/rep if you use the std key,We have run our race bikes extremely hard many times in racing conditions with no prob's at all only with the std key.
