Del 14mm Carb - Throttle Cable (Please Help)

Hey guys,

Just bought a del rep 14mm carb (Thanks SIKKO_X2)..
Tried fitting it onto my aircooled cag, but the throttle cable wasnt long enough.
Tried trimming some of the black plastic from the outside but i ended up cutting the cable in my anger haha.

I have just bought another cable from ebay, but it wont turn up for ages and i really wanted to ride this weekend.

What did everyone else to do get a cable to fit? The inside cable wasnt long enough to go down the throttle tube on the carb.

Dont suppose anyone has a cable sitting around that might fit they could send me/ I could pickup(vic)?

Or any tips to get this del rep carb to fit?

Yeah just cut down the neck that comes out of the carb with a hacksaw. The thread from the adjustable neck goes all the way back to the bend so just cut some of it off so you can still thread in the adjusting screw bit. Ive yet to find a cable that actually fits and the one you have just ordered will probably have the same problem. The other alternative is to cut back the outer bit of the cable by cutting the plastic off and then unraveling th metal spring stuff and then trimming it off. Ive done this successfully but others say it is not advised and to be honest it was a big pain in the ass.
