thought id start a new thread for this topic.lol

wats the ideal running temp?? my cag is 80-100d C at idle speed after warm up and max's out after a good flogging at 160d C.

is this normal?

..seems about normal temp? i mean after my runs, no go touching the exhaust thats for sure!

I think crash dummy said his hottest reading was higher than that, But he took the reading from the plug or right near it. ?

smokincag where are you getting you readings from ?

I measured my engine temp at the base of the spark plug as instructed from the 2 stroke bible. The critical temp is around 200.C anywhere past that and your engine is looking at a very short lifespan before melt down. It is pretty obvious too because once the engine hits 220.C power fade occurs. 245.C your in death territory. Expect the engine to be dieseling by that point if it hasn't already seized. Your temps sound great!

yeah same place pretty much. top of cooling head and around there.
its weird that the exhaust expansion chamber when running is round 80d C or less and the stinger was only 25d C.
