Is oil everywhere normal?

Whats up everybody. I Just bought one of these pocket bikes used. The guy I bought it from said he hadnt ran it for about a month. He said there was still a little fuel in it ,but when I got it home I gave it a try and it wouldnt start. I figured ild just clean it up yada yada, but when I got the fairings or plastics off the thing I could see the fuel tank and it looked like pure 2cycle oil in it. I took it all apart including the engine and when the exhaust came off oil came out of that too like syrup. I checked the plug and the spark plug was oily as hell. Now im not sure about 2cycle engines but im ready to be filled with knowledge, but is oil in the exhaust and so forth normal for these bikes or should I be freeking out right now?

lol with the engine out and the bike bare the bike wouldnt even roll, I had to take the rear and front brakes apart and put it all together again so the thing would atleast move. The guy said it only has a few hours on it and the bike looks good..looks new lol. I dont know much about these things its a 39cc pocket bike, blata motor, thunder predator if that helps any. Thanks in advance.

p.s. Im new here...HI

Let me be the first to say welcome to the world of pocket bikes! I hate to say it but it sounds like your gonna have to rebuild the engine.....it is normal for the exhaust to leak 2 stroke oil here and there but the way you described it, it sounds like the guy you bought the bike off was running the engine too rich and had his oil to fuel ratios all mixed up(bit too much oil maybe) which also means unfortunately your carby is most likely clogged up which is why it wont start! And if it has been sitting there for a while that means you would have "thick and stale" 2 stroke oil coating the inside of your engine which only 1 thing can fix "CLEAN and REBUILD"!!! First things first....what i would do is go over the whole bike just to make sure all the bolts and welds are intact.... then start on rebuilding your engine...cause if the bikes rolling chassis isnt up to scratch would you wanna risk coming off the bike at 40-50kmh? At least you came to the right place for advice....any questions you may have on PB's i'm sure you'll find the answers here!!!

Hey bigkid whats up. I was thinking that but I was hoping the other lol. Thank god its a small engine though. Yeah the oil in there was pretty thick. The chassis is good, I didnt see any cracks or anything. Do you think it would be worth it to upgrade to a 49cc complete motor if its even possible? Ill have to finish up on it when I get back home in a few days. Hope it starts when I put it back together. lol

it sounds like its been sitting around for sometime & the fuel has evaporated leaving the settled oil behind

just clean everything up & flush the fuel system carb & engine with fresh fuel then replace the plug add a fresh batch of 25:1 fuel mix & it may be fine

25:1 = 200ml of synthetic 2 stroke oil to 5 ltrs of gas

unsure of the us conversion for gallons but im sure you will find it on the net or its usually printed on the oil bottle

depending how much you paid its either a blata replica genuine blata or a mixture of replica with some genuine parts
you would have to post a pic of the frame etc to get a model or type

Well I got back today from my trip and first thing I did was finish cleaning up the bike. Took the engine all the way down got all the gunk out made some adjustments tightend loose ends and replaced the spark plug and so forth and put it back together. The book that the guy gave me doesnt look like the bike. I used the spark plug model from the book and it didnt fit. It was too long and the piston was taping it so there was no way this would start like this. It didnt seem right. I ended up getting a plug that looked the same for a 2-4 stroke motor and it started up and ran fine and I had a blast. It was faster than what the book says it would go so im still wondering if its a 39cc bike. Anyways I dont know what model it is or anything since the book has given me false info and is probably the wrong model so heres some pics mac90 if you can figure this out. I know its not a top end bike its got to be generic or something lol but I dont even know where I would go to get parts for this thing if they wanted to know models and so forth. Still glad I got it though lol. Rode around a empty school parking lot to test it out and it was pretty quick ....brakes suck though took forever to slow down and they just wont tighted down right.

Hey dude. Im 99% sure that this is a stock standard aircooled cag and definately does not have a blata engine. How much did you pay for it? The guy who sold it to you either has no idea what he is talking about or was bullshitting you.

yeah thats a samurai cag - i used to have the same. 39cc engine.

for the brakes take the calipers off and run a drill bit about .5mm bigger through it to loosen them up then re-adjust and they work fine.

i think you asked about upgrades - every CAG part fits on them. a bigger carb, full circle crank and headkit + exhaust will get them moving. probably get everything for <$150.

this is a vid of the old samurai i used to have with the upgrades - they go plenty fast but accelleration is pretty bodge.

YouTube - samurai cag (i did get busted by the cops a few rides after that if you were wondering, so dont ride on the street )

Looking good mate I think it's just a regular "cag". Also, your front forks are on backwards, loosen the tripple clamps and spin them around. You'll have to take off the brake caliper and front mudguard I imagine.

this guy was selling it off of craigslist for 100$ so I was like cool deal and bought it. The book that he gave me though said it was a thunder preditor..muahahaha lmao (sounds retarded), but its not the same bike and the parts dont really match lol. either way it was only 100$. Im just trying to figure out what the hell it is lol, so If I need or want to by parts for it I have some idea. The engine looks exactly to the T like this
motor
Pocket Bike Parts > Complete 49cc Engine

so do you still think its a cag?

(edit)
sorry this came up after you guys posted. Nice vid Glen. So its a samuri cag sweet atleast I know what it is now lol. Im not quite sure what you mean about the brake thing though.(?) Ill have to look at it

(edit again)
Thanks sqeeby. I think your right lol.
