Front sprocket "stiff"

hey.
A mate had his pocket bike over today and when i span his sprocket it would spin around a few times before it stops..
It wasnt until i done that until i noticed that mine is so hard to turn...
If i turn it it only spins 1/8 or so of the way around .... If i replaced the bearing would this fix it??

to put a new bearing in it i would have to take out the pinion which would require a special tool wouldnt it?

it depends wheather its a 6tooth.If it is it wll go through the bearing. No need to take it off.If 7 tooth then yes you will .There is a circilp behind the housing.Look at the back of the bell and you will see it.Also one on the sprocket side.

razor. You remove the bell housing. Then look in the back of it.You will see 2 slots. If you turn it you will see a circlip holding the bearing in.Its an inside circlip.Get circilps pliers and remove it.tap srocket with a peice of hard wood and it will come out of the hosing. Then have a look behind the sprocket. You will see another circilp.Remove that and hold the bearing and tap it of also.refit new6202 high temp bearing refit it and its done.
