reed stoper

hey all
would griding down the reed stoper to allow the reeds to open a litttle bit thurther makea ny diffrence or will it cause damag to some where also can i do any thing to the reed block thing that will increase powere bottom or top end cheers

yes it will help file off about 1mm and also drill some small 4mm or so holes in the arms 2 holes in each arm is best this helps pick the reeds up so they open faster and you should gain some rpm. i use a reed stop moded like how i have described with a set of my single stage cf reeds and its in my lil drity and its stock apart from the reeds and boy does the bike go compared to stock realy revs hard and goes great.

you can also get a 5 mm reed block spacer & remove the reed stopper alltogether

yer i just did it than matty but i couldent feel any diffrence in power maby its ur reed hmm how much u sell em for? have u used a reed space that rd makes mac? or has any one ?? how much power do the give my bike is so slow altho it proble wil suit me till i get used to riding on a track meh ...

I've just finished making my own reed spacer. I used a bit of 4.75mm plastic block we had lying around work and used the manifold gasket as a template. I reckon she revs a lot furthar and makes better power in the higher revs. I run triples tho so no reed stopper.

i have my own setups i like to play with i have not tried a reed spacer & not sure if RD still sells them its best to pm him with any questions

Yeah, I got a spacer from RD.
Havn´t had time to install it yet. Will post to let you know how it goes.

PS. RD, still waitin on that timing key!

You can also put small washers in between the reed stopper and the block where the 2 screw together to allow for more gap between the 2 which will mean the reeds will open further
