All you can do is remove material from the inside of the piston. Messing with any part of the piston that touches the bore is BAD news.

the skirt can be raised slightly but has to be done properly without making the piston weak
you can also mod the top of the piston slightly instead of raising the exhaust port on the barrel but both should be done properly & there are limits to how far you can go

the small amount of weight lost wont make much difference your better off working on lightening the flywheel & clutch centre to reduce weight

there are also a couple of different pistons for cags some are much lighter than others i have a superlight factory 40mm piston here waiting for yet another project
you could ask a couple of the ebay sellers to weigh the pistons they stock as there are a few types made in china so it all depends on the casting & metals used in the alloy etc etc..

no m8 its only a 1 mm recess on the exhaust port side of the crown

lightening the piston wont make any difference in power in such a small engine

id stick to other mods if you weaken the piston & it fails you will be up for a whole new topend or more crank berings seals gaskets etc.. full rebuild time

also by removing up to even .25 of a mil from the top can make the dome of the piston significantly weaker adn lower compression witch is not a good thing at all.

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
the lightest cag pistons are the 10mm pin sized.
