custom big disc front end (pics

hey guys thought id show u my big disc front end
wouldnt advise doing this without tools or skills

alrite on it i have an x 18 disc(i think) this origionally had 6 holes wich were much bigger so i had to drill new holes
once i put the disc on i though sheesh that was way too easy then i went to fit the caliper and what do ya know she doesnt fit inbetween the disc and the rim(u will understand when u look at the pics) so i had to cut off a piece of the hub off the wheel that the disc came from and drill the tree holes in it
there were alot of different sizes that were experimented with but i ended up having to come that close that i had to shave some metal off the rear of the caliper
the stock disc measured up at 12cm the new 1 measured up at 17cm

enjoy the pics will have sum more wen mounted
cheers
Reece
ps sorry for the shoddy pics they were taken with a webcam

Well done ninja. Should be beating the other riders into the corners now.
I like the way you didnt give up when you encontered problems, and ended up making it fit.

nah more to the front but it would look kool
i have it planned out pretty simpl alrite im gonna explain it
i will have to cut an inch off the sprocket side of the hub (but keep it)

alrite here goes form sprocket side to original brake side

sprocket/piece of cut off hub/new brake disc/middle of rim/brake disc

i hope u understand
(im sure u will u seem like a pretty intelligent guy)

Yes I understand what your saying...if you get it to work will be good to see some pics.

P.S. you will need to machine for another bearing (so the are 3) in the piece you cut off and the hub so the bearing fits between them under the new disc, as the would not be apprpriate surport just on the bearing sitting out near the sprocket on the piece you cut off.I would also run bolts all the way through the hub to. Anyway intresting project I wouldnt try it but good luck, but if you go ahead make sure its safe and can take the load.

Just find a nuts and bolt supplier near you, I get my bolts that are odd size or length from one near me that makes them. You can usually buy of the shelf bolts as the are many sizes available.
Also if you are determined to go ahead with this mod, don't let anyone heavy ride the bike as the weight carrying properties of the bike will be affected. Also make sure you use High tensile bolts, not mild threaded bar.
Also you will have to move your wheel over buy adjusting the spacers the same width as the new disc. And bear in mind any chain lube/oil coming of the chain will spray onto the new disc, making it infective.
