Just had to come back on..had another idea for you,as I dont think cutting the hub is a great idea. Here it is, make a sleave that has the disc stud patten in it and put it over the hub,attach it how you like IE: weld. Then just bolt the disc to it.

Buy a chain spliter/joiner...is a great investment. Then dont use the joining links.
