Banshee wont start when its warmed up

This seems kinda odd to me. My banshee when the engine is cold starts pretty much first pull. Its running like a dream too and mackin hard. The problem is when i turn it off and try to re-start it while the engine is hot you can pull till the cows come home and it wont start. If you let it cool down after 5 or 10 minutes it fires straight up. Im thinking maybe its flooding every time i shut it down. Has anyone expirienced something like this?

yeah i had it happen at the start of this year, it was also hard to start if you ran all the fuel out if it. i think air gets trapped in the filter so the fuel doesnt flow into the carb. i just set the filter horizontally and its right now.

that or maybe change the plug. might be breaking down.

Nah its definately not that. Spark is strong and i have clear fuel lines. Fuel is good. Its running too well (once its going) to be either of those. im pretty sure its flooding everytime i turn it off so i cant start it again,,, maybe.

is the filter TOTALLY full of fuel when you go to start it? or is it just a little pool at the bottom of it.

if you think its flooding just pull the plug out and turn it over a couple of times then see if it starts. easy enough test.

worst case just do what you should be doing with a properly tuned bike and use the choke

Yes It could be flooding & once the engine cools down it evaporates the excess fuel

Try putting a inline fuel tap on it & switch the tap off let the bike idle for 30 secs to 1 min with the fuel tap off, Dont let it run dry & see if it will start after another 30 secs to 1 min

If that dosnt fix it the other thing it could be is a faulty coil, Coils tend to fart out when hot but come good again once they cool down

Try a new plug they can also cause this problem, you sometimes overlook the simple things looking for a problem

Banshee coils tend to do exactly this when they are on their way out. Easy starting, run great but then you can't restart the engine when warm.

Solution is to replace with a nice Polini or BZM coil I wouldn't say it's a loss having to replace it. I did mine and won't ever look back.

its probably had its idle tuned when its cold. they change quite a bit. thats why if the carb is tuned correct you have to choke it to start it.
