100% hard core
i have tried all tyres exccept sava, and i would rate the v rubber 10/10, pmt 8/10, zonga race tyres 3/10 zonga treaded, 3/10, and other chines no named slicks 2/10,
the v rubber are an awsome tyre, if you had a cag, blata, dreambike, and stock banchee, you get that much grip with these tyres you could hold the throttle flat stick the whole track at indy with ouit loosing traction at all.
in warmer weater use soft front meduim rear, in cooler weather use soft front and rear, run arount 23psi you will not go wrong, beat performance tip i can give you, besides buying a euro race engine,

PMT t-40, Sava A's and sticky zhongya's

Last track day i had the pleasure of testing The PMT t-40 and The Sava A (soft).

The PMT
was suprisingly good given the hard compound of the tyre, the cold weather and drying track. The PMT's were fitted to the polini rep running the full polini 50cc engine and coped well with the power and high speed corners on our longer circuit (870m). However the tyres went searching for grip through slower corners, fighting for grip in the front. Durability was excellent.

PMT-t40 optimum pressure for the day was 16 psi(front) and 18psi(rear). The PMTs were horrible, unrideable in the wet due to their silica content. Fell down three times in one lap, eventually walked bike back to pits as was spinning rear down the straights at any throttle setting.

Overall, good control tyre that can be used in any class. Well worth the initial cost, as tyre could easily do a whole season. Rating = 8/10

SAVA A-
Best tyre i have ever ridden on (including full size bikes). Tyre built temperature even on drying track. Sava A's gave good feel all the way to the edge, giving a predictable brake away on the front when pushed. I literally could not unsettle the rear despite my best efforts.

One criticism would be durability. Would not get much more than two race days on a rear and possibly three on the front tyre. Definately an open class tyre. Not much point on a cag, as they would easily over power the chassis.
RATING= 9/10

Sticky Zhongya-
I have ridden on these tyres quite a bit. They work best at low pressures (15-16 psi) which allows them to build temperature. Perfect tyre for juniors and cags as they teach throttle control and give good, predictable brake away at the edge. Excellent value for money tyre, however quality control is poor, with the occasional tyre vibrating badly.

Rating= 4/10 (elite bikes)
8/10 (juniors, cags, those on a budget)

although I`ve moddified my cag frame for a greater lean angle the most noticeable diference between zonga sticky treaded tyres and sava MRB front and MRC rear is side wall movement . the zongas moved sideways over the bumps on the entry to turn 5 at the MAKO track in a clockwise direction and I`ve fallen a bout 3 times in the same place with the savas however I didn`t even notice the bumps which is lucky cause I`m now taking that corner twice as fast . little wear on the front and the rear gets sticky like my VTR tyres with about a third less wear than the zongas (seeing as how they cost about 3 times as much is actually just as economical with the benifit of much better handling) buy the way I come in at 85 kg and the weather is quite warm up here if it were much cooler I`d try MRA front and MRB rear

I doubt Supercheap sells it, so your best bet would be Autobarn or Repco..

I bought mine from Autobarn, cost $67 for 2.5 litres.. I've been coating all my Zhongyas in it with 2-3 coats... And it sticks like s$#t to a blanket..I've been using it for about 3 race meets and a couple of practice days and i've used up about 200 ml..

Ask for VHT Trakbite..

cats out of the bag.

vht is some very sticky shit. zhongas + vht is a must for any std racer.

I'd have to choose vee rubber for aircooled...for the simple fact it won't give out. vee rubber on front and sava on the rear also makes for great cornering.
