Blata rep problem

hey. just wondering if anyone would know the problem to my mates b1 rep... we adjusted the clutch and took it for a spin, it was going like stink, until we ride for about 3-5minutes and the bike just slows down.

at full throttle she is still going alone for a while keeps going slugish for approx 100m then kicks like normal and gets going. once again, you slow down to turn and she sluggs for 100m-200m then kicks in... i thought it could be over heating but it wasnt that hot today, and the bike is pretty much brand new?

any suggestions to what the problem is?

thanks

looser or tighter? and how does would that effect it? if i left the bike for 5minutes then went to ride it again, it would go off, real fast, then once again slow down etc bogs and goes slow again.

Sounds like the same problem i had with mine my a/c bike last weekend which has an adjustable clutch,my clutch was overheating and it would just slip,i left it for a few minutes to cool down and rode it and it went hard again
If its reving and not picking up like it did sounds like a overheating clutch to me mate, btw it doesnt have to be a hot day to overheat a clutch,if youve got it adjusted to kick in at higher rpm theres a good chance it will overheat easier reguardless of the outsside temps, try backing the springs off a little so it engages a little earlier and see how it goes

Hi insanenissan, If I understand the problem correctly, ie: the bike runs fine until you have ridden for a while, then bogs down after backing off on throttle and then accelerating again.
Does the bike Bog down for only the 100m-200m, or stays sluggish no matter how far you ride it?
If it only stays sluggish for a little while it is most likely clutch adjustment. As these Blata reps develop a lot of heat and have experienced the same with my old b1.
Iam a bit surprised that you go 100m-200m before it picks up though if the clutch is close to the right setting I wouldn't suspect that to happen, so possibly you are a light rider that is why you can get it to work before it heats up.
But to fix this wind each pad "IN" only about 3rd of a turn (roughly 500 more revs each 3rd)this will make it engage later close to when the motor is on the power. Keep trying and going for a ride, until you have the setting right, DO NOT be tempted to wind more in on any give go, its a fine line between set right and wrong. (welcome to the joys of adjustable clutches HA HA )

i weight 66kg's. once i get moving like the 100m being bogged down... the bike does pick up and cut sick again. then i slow down and turn, boggy boggy until another 100m then it kicks me in the guts and goes wild! grr dodgy adjustable clutchs

Like I suspected you are light this is why you can ride the bike OK before it heats up. It definitely sounds like you have the clutch cutting in to early then, and once it heats up (as they all will) it is cutting in early giving you this problem. Try what I explained before and you will feel like ya ridding a whole new bike.
