it might be siezed up a little from shipping moisture i have had a couple like this
i just removed springs and clutch arms cleaned and lubricated the bolts where they go through the pad arms with a mineute amount of grease put it back together
while i had the arms off i cleaned any oily residue or pad dust off of pads and clutch bell with thinners
should do the trick ....

thanx broz, r1 what do you mean by slight incline? i was thinking of putting greace in it but yea i was worry about it geting on the pads at high rev and slipping, but yea ill give it a try, a do you reckon if i grind heaps of shalow lines in the bell thing would it stuff up the pads? iam about 70kg do you reckon ill need a 2 shoe clutch ajustable whatever? you reckon it will suit for draging?

just give it time to wear in and by a incline i meant
a hill. mine did the same thing it takes a while for
the clutch to engage when its stock.

just try take the springs and arms off clean it up but yeah only put enough grease on the bolts that the clutch arms swing on so its a thin film and only enough to protect from corrosion
they usually have a small gapless spring type washer between the pad arm and bolt head sometimes they are installed rough or incorrect from factory and bind between bolt and pad arm siezing it up inspect them make sure they r ok

when being on a ship for weeks sometimes a month the containers get moisture in the shipping from normal conditions or bad weather 1 of 100 reasons but try this first

if you put groves in the bell it wil only eat the pads off the clutches and you will be up for a new clutch bell and clutch

ajustable clutches are really only for race situations they wear out fast and cost more than a 3 shoe last less than half as long
if you incorrectly ajust them and they slip you will kill a clutch in only a couple of tanks of fuel or less
the best option is a black pad 3 shoe clutch i found this pad material to be the longest lasting and hooks up well but get yourself a set of heavy 10 turn clutch springs
im fairly sure ozminimoto have the black pad clutches and 10 turn springs in stock
or you can just grab the springs to put on your old clutch
10 turn springs make your rpms pick up alot more before your clutch kicks in so your engine is spooled to higher rpms on take off and helps pickup and acceleration
