Buying A Pocket Bike - Need Info + Help!

Hello,

I am wanting to purchase a pocketbike, however I have no money to purchase the great book by Luke Donalley.

I was thinking of a Carter Racing Developments DB36 for $999.00 but it doesn't specify power. I am pretty confused as one costing more than double the price is only 11HP.

The other choice is this Watercooled Blata Replica Stage 3 Pocket Bike for $1,199.00

I think the Blata Replica would be the best. I am going to ride it hard everyday, so it has to be fast and reliable. I want fast acceleration as well as a pretty high top speed (100kmh+). I am looking to purchase some upgrades but I'm not sure whether things like 49cc Race Tuned Exhausts will fit on a 39.77cc bike/engine. I can't spend too much on upgrades but I want a decent gain.

Any help would be grealy appreciated.

Cheers,
J

wizzar is an unknown quantity at this point
Why don't you PM Carter and ask him all this. They are his bikes. Paul is a fantastic pocketbike dealer and would be more than happy to answer all you questions about any bike, parts, upgrades, freight, etc that would reflect your budget. Hey why don't you try calling him on the phone if necessay. Personally myself i'd go for the Carter Racing Development DB36 for $999.00 as they are built here in Australia by Carter.
I think you are kidding yourself if you think you think top speed is all you're aiming for. Have a look and a think about at the track you intend racing on and then look at some specs. Top speed may not be what you need. What is your racing skill level? There's a lot more to it than just outright speed.

The DB36 puts out the same power as the Standard Blata Replica 6.5HP the other CRD's are powered by Italian Bi-Zeta and Polini Engines.

Watercooled Blata 39.77cc Engine,13HP re-squished Engine<-- This is the Blata Replica Stage 3. It has double the power of the DB36. Is the Blata Replica a Chinese cheapo bike? Will it be faster than the DB36?

And if anyone could answer my other question about upgrades( i.e 49cc Race Exhausts on a 39.77cc Engine ) it would be helpful.

Cheers,
J
