Who,s got a Fat Boy Pipe.

I know many of you guys have the good fatboy pipe fitted to your engine / bike and performance is good BUT did you file out the ROUND hole on the inner manifold side to match the shape of your engines exhaust ? there is a big restriction in performance of this pipe if you don,t file out to exhaust shape, the engine has an exhaust outlet in a rectangle shape and the fatboy has its inlet shaped in circle, this is a NO NO. so if you want that bit extra in pipe power you should inspect this and do it, also please use some high temp silicon sealant to both sides of manifold gasket plus where the header pipe joins the main pipe, don,t want any leakage.

I have filed my manifold and im still debating on welding or using high temp sealant for the header and manifold join.

i personally prefere the silicon seal, as long as both mating surfaces are clean of oil ect then apply the sealant to the inner header sections and slide together, finishing with some external sealant around the join.

These pipes are of horribly low quality. Mine hasa freakin hole in it. Good thing I smartened up and bought a WaterCooled bike. Much better.

yeah, i think i got a friday special aswell. it has a hole in the welding right next to one of the bolt holes. i'm just going to take the bike to an exhaust shop and ask them to match the exhaust to the port, cause either way it has to be welded.

i didnt go the fatboy i wanted to keep my full size tank with return line so i went the 3 piece wavy power pipe and was verry impress at the performance
here is a pic

i was verry impressed with the quality and performance of this pipe also you dont get clearance problems with the 15:1 headkit and long plug

that jet pro pipe is ok but doesn,t have the extra volume like the fatboy does, plus the wavy bends don,t help alot in full performance, if you enlongate the fatboy manifold holes a little more this will allow the manifolds header pipe to stay well clear of any sparkplug ends / caps.
