throttle cable

hey guys,
i got my bzm engine and i pulled the throttle cable off my 14mm del and connected it to the new 18mm del but i noticed it waas too short, so i bought a new bzm cable off danny and when i installed it and started the bike, it just revved insanely and the rear wheel started spinning. i could still apply more throttle, so the cable isnt way too short or anything.

i tried starting the engine without the cable connected to the snap throttle and it idled fine.

is my problem the cable, or the way the carb is tuned?
cheers

is the slide open when you start it with the cable installed? with the dominos you can put the cable in the wrong way pretty easy so double check how its all done.

then you can adjust the cable tension with the nut on top of the carb and on the throttle itself

here is a pic of the slide when im not applying any throttle.
i have adjusted everything so that the slide sits as low as possible but thats what happens.

dude i think i may know.. ok so looking at the pic.. when the bike idles, you can like see that black tube, and at the bottem you can see where some air gos thru and you can see a tiny bit of the needle.. ANYWAY when you put the cable in and stuff.. you go to put that black tube into your carbie.. is there groves or anything on the black tube?? on my stock cag.. the black tube has 2 groves on oppisit sides! one long one and one short one.. i think you have to match them groves with the pokeing out things in that carbie slot hole... man i swear i just made no sence hahaha! but if you can picture it.. you'd understand!

if it goes in with no throttle cable we can assume he knows that hes getting it lined up. they can only go in one way on the genuine carbs.

just make sure the nut on top of the carb is all the way in and so is the one on the throttle. if its a domino take the cover off and make sure you havent wound the cable around the drum the wrong way.

bit hard to describe over an internet forum

nah i totally get you, but its all been put on well, ive checked over everything.
i think the cable might be a bit short, but danny sent me this throttle cable and it is specifically for the bzm carbs and stuff.
i might put a standard throttle on and see how that goes

not sure, he sent me a cable for the domino and its 100% perfect and i got a dreambike dominio throttle and 18mm carb it doesnt look like its off too much though.

if you take the thottle off the handle bars and leave the cable connected does it still wedge open like that? if the adjusters are slackened off thatll be your indication the cables wrong

i think i have just about fixed it. the cable was caught and i couldnt see it because things were in the way. the slide sits so much lower now which is good, but it still revs really highly when i start it.

glen, got any pointers on tuning dels for bzm setups?
cheers
