19mm dellorto replica question

hey i have ordered a 19mm dellorto replica carby from ozminimoto for my blata rep/F1 watercooled,
i have heard that the stock reeds only open about 2-3mm, and they need to open more with the new carby, and i need a new reed spacer, is this true, or will it work okay with the reeds only opening that amount?

also where exactly are reed spacers located, are they in between the crank case and the reed block? and what would be the best size to get?

thnx, daniel

no r1pocket i cant do that because watercooled bikes reed cages are different, the reeds are actually stopped by the walls on the crank case, it is a V-cage with two sets of reeds on each side of the V not like the single reed system on cags
a reed spacer i think brings the reeds out a bit so they can open more before they hit the wall, therefore allowing more fuel/air into the engine,
is that right?

legine, get yourself a good set of glass reeds plus make to fit a 3mm or 5mm reed spacer, both of these mods will assist in over a 5mm reed opening plus of course more power. the reed spacer goes between the crankcase and the reed cage so what happens is the reed cage is out futher from the crankcase than normal stock.

legine, those reeds will be fine as so the price. you must make up a reed spacer aswell. also if your stock reeds are fitted with restrictors you can delete these when using the glass type reeds.

I ordered them as carbon fiber reeds, but I dont think they are.
They dont have the criss/cross pattern carbon fiber usually is.
I honestly don't know what they are made of.
They flex of these is slightly heavier that fiberglass.
