fuel tap on stock carby

Hi guys i made the mistake of taking off
the fuel tap on my stocko carby to clean
some crap out of it and now im not sure
about where this black bent looking washer goes

i have tried a few different ways of inserting it but
it either doesnt let fuel through or it leaks

Im trying it out by blowing through it and cant seem to work it
out

Any help on this of even a small picture would help me a great deal

Thanks fellas .

Thanks guys

Yeah thanks for ya help guys

I just wasnt sure if the black bent washer
was memant to go on in any particular way
EG: bent one side up,or bent one side down

So i can put that black washer on any old way?

Aslong as its in that order, Flat washer with cut out in it ,then black bent washer, then the plate that the screws go through to hold it all on?

Is this right?

The bent washer just provides tension for the rubber to seal so either way is fine

stock tap

I cut the end off my stock tap(after turning it on of course) and fitted a better quality inline tap on the fuel line. I also put an inline filter in the line before it. The stock taps seem to wear pretty quick.

Just went and had a look (shame it's so hard to post pics here)

If you already have it apart you should be able to see a little black rubber with 4 holes in it.

The pastic tap goes against this, then the washer with the slot in it , then the spring washer then the retaining one with ON stamped in it.

Hope this helps
