Starting / running problems

Hi guys, great forum.
I need a little help with a problem with my sons bike.
Its a cheapy we bought on e-bay for his birthday last weekend. We got it running and for a couple of days and it was fine, then on the 3rd day I went to start her up and it ran for about 10 minutes then a rattling noise appeared, it stopped and would not start again. On investigation it appeared 2 of the springs in the clutch basket had come off and had been eaten up. I replaced the springs and put it all back together but it now won't run.
I have cleaned out the carby and checked the spark and the best it will do is idle for about 2 minutes or so and then stop. It then won't start again until a number of trys and does the same again. If you turn the throttle it will also stall. I've checked the fuel flow, the jet and tried a couple of different needle settings all to no avail. Its very frustrating as used to race 1000cc bikes and this is giving me more trouble than those..
Any help will be appreciated.
Theres a pic of the bike here

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
i sugest you remove the fuel tank and wash it out, inspect fuel line or better still replace both fuel line and fuel filter, make sure the line is a good fit to all connecting points, clean out carby once again paying attention to the jet or jets and needle / seat. also do you think your engine sounds louder when it does run, if so there is a chance there is a leaking crankcase oil seal, the stock seals and bearings are not good, its also a good idea to replace these with nsk brand. give these a go.

sounds like your carby is filling slowly make sure u have a good flow from the fuel hose if you do pull the bowl off the carby leaving it attached to the fuel line than play around with the float and see if u have and steady stream of fuel going into the carby

Thanks Guys,
Stripped the bike, again, and checked all the above.
There were a couple of things wrong, like the fuel filter was on the wrong way, nothing serious though. Put it back together with some new fuel and a new plug and it now runs fine.
I notice the choke open tag on the carby is pointing the wrong way too... :?
Now I just need some road wheels to convert it into a super motard and I'll be at the butterfly farm on it... oh, and I'll need to loose a few kilos too...
