Back off the 2 nuts that adjust the clutch. The best way to do it is back them off until the spring is loose then tighten them so there is a little tension on the springs. This is a good starting point.

just loosen them up & make sure they are adjusted evenly
measure how compressed the spring is so the measurement is roughly the same for both springs

alot of the cags flat out dont even have the keyway cast into the clutch side of things and are just a clamp fit. as in my quad.

i grab the clutch arm with a pair of vice grips and tighten the hell out of the center bolt. use a nice high quality socket head bolt as the cheap bunnings ones will round off applying that much torque to them.

They are a tapered seat. They don't even need to be that tight to hold. It will be the clutch adjustment. If you havent touched the adjustment then it will be slipping its arse of as they normally come very tight.

hang on... If the engine sounds like its struggling i dont think its slipping. if you rev it with the wheel off the ground does it rev up? If its slipping it should rev up but not realy go anywhere
